Napoli vs Juventus Betting Tips:

  • Victor Osimhen Anytime Goalscorer @ 8/5
  • Both Teams To Score @ 10/11

Last season this was the match that virtually crowned Napoli champions of Italy.

Back then the Azzurri were flying in the league, having achieved 14 wins from their first 17 games, and trashed the Bianconeri 5-1. It was a harsh reality check for Massimiliano Allegri’s side who, up to that point, had only conceded six goals in Serie A.

Fast-forward thirteen months and both clubs are living a difficult moment: the hosts have sacked two managers and are currently closer to the bottom of the table than to leaders Inter (29 points gap).

After a disastrous month of February (only one win in four games), Juve have all but surrendered their hopes to fight for the Scudetto and their objective is now to avoid being leapfrogged by AC Milan.

Surprisingly tough since that Napoli’s triumph in January 2023 it’s Juve who got most points in Serie A (92 against Napoli’s 78, in 47 matches), which suggests this game might be a much closer affair than a season ago.

On paper both starting XIs are very similar to the previous campaign, but whereas this year Juventus have shown a strong mentality and, at times, granitic determination that has led them to win many games by tight margins, Napoli have looked confused and unable to replicate those dominant displays that helped win the title with five games to spare.

As it often happens when two teams who are not in great form face each other the match might be decided by an individual piece of brilliance.

In this case both centre-forwards, Victor Osimhen (five goals in the last three appearances) and Dušan Vlahović (nine goals in seven games in 2024, the best record in Europe’s top five leagues) are in great form and might grab a cagey game by the scruff of the neck.

Team News:

In the Neapolitans’ camp Franco Calzona will be without the injured Cajuste and Ngonge. The attack will be led by Osimhen with Kvaratskhelia and Politano on the flanks. In the middle, Lobotka will be supported by Anguissa and Traorè, who is still ahead of Zielinski. In defence the coach can rely on Juan Jesus in the center with Rrahmani, while Di Lorenzo and Olivera will act as full-backs.

Juventus’s midfield is in emergency due to the absences of the injured Rabiot and McKennie, Max Allegri is ready to launch January signing Alcaraz and Miretti alongside Locatelli. However, the option of Cambiasso as a midfielder should not be ruled out, leaving room for Weah on the wing.

The visitors are confident of recovering Danilo in time, who was dealing with an ankle problem; the Brazilian would complete the defence with Gatti and Bremer. Chiesa's presence is in doubt due to an ankle injury suffered in training.

Napoli vs Juventus Odds:

Based on the outright market’s odds the outcome of this match is very tricky to predict, which means you can get a great return if you pick correctly.

Napoli are favourite (7/5) to win on Sunday despite having won only six (out of 16) home games in all competitions.

The draw (21/10) and the victory for the Bianconeri (11/5) pay almost the same. The visitors have won 17 times in 26 games Serie A games and will be sensing their opportunity given Napoli have only kept three home clean sheets all season.

The last 11 games have been very balanced, with five wins apiece and a draw. Also, the number of goals scored is similar: Napoli 18 and Juventus 16.

The hosts have won their last four Serie A home matches against Juve, and they’ve never achieved five straight wins.

Six of the last eight Napoli’s matches in all competitions have produced less than 2.5 Goals (odds are 4/7), but Victor Osimhen was absent in five of them.

There have been three goals or more in five of Juve’s last seven away matches. The odds for Over 2.5 Goals are 5/4.

Both Teams To Score @ 10/11

Four of Napoli's last five Serie A home games have ended with both sides scoring, as last year’s champions have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five Serie A encounters.

The Partenopei have only won three of the last 10 matches in all competitions but are still unbeaten under new manager Franco Calzona.

Juventus have conceded at least a goal in all their last five Serie A matches and have kept their last clean sheet over a month ago in their 3-0 win at Lecce, in a match were, initially, they suffered the Salentini’s rhythm.

Victor Osimhen Anytime Goalscorer @ 8/5

Between Vlahovic and the Nigerian striker you’d have to favour the latter as he often delivers in big nights.

He has already netted twice when he faced Juve (in six games) and counts seven goals against Italy’s top oppositions and nine in the Champions League.

Thanks to his brace at Sassuolo on Wednesday he has become only the third player in Napoli’s history to reach double figure for four consecutive seasons.

These might be Osimhen last couple of months in Napoli, as he’ll probably move in the summer, but Serie A’s best centre-forward should end with a bang.
