Motherwell face Kimarnock on Wednesday night (19:45), as both sides look to finish top of the bottom half of the SPL table. This duo have escaped relegation danger comfortably with two games to go and can look forward to another season at the top table in 2025/26.

However, they will want to finish as high as possible and below you can find my Motherwell vs Kilmarnock predictions, featuring betting tips and team news.

Motherwell vs Kilmarnock Betting Tips

  • Kilmarnock to win @ 8/5
  • Daniel Armstrong to score anytime @ 4/1

Team News

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos is back training for the hosts after a broken wrist but unlikely to feature in this one, while manager Michael Wimmer has an awful lot of other injury issues to contend with. Kofi Balmer (hamstring) and Shane Blaney (knee) remain out along with Sam Nicholson (knee), Jack Vale and Zach Robinson (both Achilles).

Changes could be made after the disappointing showing at Hearts, with young midfielders Kai Andrews and Ewan Wilson potential options to come into the side. Tony Watt was quiet throughout when leading the line and so Luke Armstrong may be chosen to play up top against Killie.

Motherwell vs Kilmarnock Stats

  • Kilmarnock have won their last three games
  • Daniel Armstrong has scored two goals in his last two

Talking of the opposition, centre-back Robbie Daes rounded off an impressive week as he signed a new contract to keep him at the club having scored an injury-time winner against Dundee. He’ll start alongside Stuart Findley at the back, while Bruce Andersen scored last time out and will lead the line in the 4-4-2 alongside Bobby Wales or Oluwaseun Adewumi.

Fraser Murray and Danny Armstrong both had good games from the wide midfield positions and so Derek McInnes will hope for strong displays from that duo once again.

Motherwell vs Kilmarnock Odds

Motherwell are 9/5 to win this home game, with Kilmarnock priced up at the marginal 8/5 favourites. That gives the away side an implied win probability of 35%, while a draw can be backed at 12/5.

BTTS is 4/6 while Andersen is 11/2 to open the scoring having hit the net 11 times this term.

Kilmarnock to win @ 8/5

Kilmarnock are in flying form right now, so much so that it looks like manager McInnes could be tempted by the vacant Hearts job once the season is out. Having done well with St Johnstone, Aberdeen and now Killie, McInnes is hot property and this recent run of form is catching the eye.

Kilmarnock have won their last three on the bounce, and four of their last five - with only an away defeat to Celtic spoiling that perfect run. They’ve won every game since the split and although this represents a tough away test, they did beat Motherwell 2-0 on matchday 32 - so the quality and confidence should be there.

The hosts have won two of their last three, but they’ve also only won two of their last seven, so it depends how you want to view their form. They were poor at Hearts last time out and may struggle again here against decent opposition. I’ll back another away win on balance.

Daniel Armstrong to score anytime @ 4/1

Daniel Armstrong has found some excellent form since the split, which means we are getting cracking value on him to find the net anytime. In the last three matches, he has bagged two goals and two assists, despite only finding the net once prior to that during the regular campaign.

It’s been his penalty expertise that has served him so well as he has converted two in as many appearances, and given the attacking intent they have shown of late, it wouldn’t surprise me if they earn another spot-kick. The winger also offers some threat in open play, but I think he offers the best value all-in-all to find the net.
