The Championship is back this weekend and 15th hosts 20th in the second tier as Millwall face Coventry City. The Sky Blues haven’t won in their last six and are distinctly out of form, while Millwall haven’t set the league alight this term. Below we have previewed the game, and given our betting tips.

Millwall vs Coventry Tips

  • Draw @ 2/1
  • Zian Flemming to score @ 23/10

Team News

Millwall keeper Matija Sarkic is back in contention following the international break and could play here. Danny McNamara has taken a knock to the knee and could be absent but aside from that, new boss Joe Edwards has a fully fit squad to choose from.

For Mark Robins, Kasey Palmer is back in training along with Fabio Tavares, although this game may come too soon for the pair of them. Kyle McFadzean is also available having missed the Stoke game due to a family bereavement.

Match Odds

Millwall are 8/5 to win this match, while Coventry are priced at 13/8. A draw can be backed at 2/1, BTTS is 5/6 and over 2.5 goals is 6/5.

Draw @ 2/1

Coventry are the draw specialists of the Championship having drawn seven of their sixteen matches to date. More to the point they are competitive in most games they play, even though they haven’t been able to replicate the form they showed last term. They are still looking to gel their new squad together, and put in a good performance in the 0-0 draw with Stoke before the break, a result that ended a run of four consecutive defeats.

Meanwhile Millwall have drawn five times this season and like their opponents, are competitive in a lot of their matches. Now they’ve said goodbye to Gary Rowett, there should be a positive atmosphere at the Den for Edwards’ first game. However, I believe there will be nothing to choose between these two average second tier teams.

Zian Flemming to score @ 23/10

Millwall enjoyed a profitable night at Hillsborough last time out as they scored four without reply. Three of their back four scored on that day however, they showed great attacking impetus throughout. Their top scorer this season has been Zian Flemming and the talented forward started as part of a front two in the last game.

Up against a Coventry defence that is leaking goals left, right and centre, Fleming should be able to find a goal. He’s a lethal finisher, and given the chance should be able to score at a decent price of 23/10.
