Both have been impressive in qualifying so far, and this should be an eye-catching tie. Below you will find my Midtjylland vs Ferencvaros prediction, accompanied by match odds and team news.

Team News

Midtjylland could be without attacker Edward Chilufya, who was substituted at half time against Santa Coloma last Wednesday, and he did not feature in their win over Aalborg at the weekend.

Denil Castillo was forced off injured in Saturday's clash and he is unlikely to feature here, as is Paulinho, who is expected to return to action later in the month. Forward Gue-sung Cho has not featured for the Wolves since May and is a doubt to make an appearance on Tuesday.

Fellow forward Marrony has not played for the club in almost a year, and his absence looks set to continue.

Since his freak injury at Euro 2024, Barnabas Varga has been sidelined and Ferencvaros are going to have to manage another game without their star striker. Wide man Owusu Kwabena went off injured in his last outing and he is unlikely to play in this first leg.

Midtjylland and both teams to score @ 100/30

I think the home advantage will play its part here on Tuesday, and so I am backing Midtjylland to come away with the victory. The Danish side are heading into their third consecutive home match across all competitions and are hoping to keep their 100 per cent win record going.

They won the second leg of their Champions League second round qualifier 1-0 against UE Santa Coloma last Wednesday, and they followed this up with a 2-0 victory over Aalborg in the Superliga.

The Wolves have looked more defensively structured when playing at home so far in the league, and this will be key for them in this tie. However, Ferencvaros boast a clinical attacking force, who have scored eight goals in their last three outings across all competitions.

So to enhance my selection, I have added both teams to score because I see Ferencvaros becoming the first visiting team to find the back of the net at the MCH Arena this term. Their new boss Pascal Jensen has enjoyed an unbeaten start to life so far with the Hungarian outfit, but this will be their toughest test yet.

Both teams have recent history competing at this level of European football, but I think they will be separated by fine margins - which is why I am backing the hosts to take the advantage into next week's second leg.

Midtjylland and btts at 100/30 Over 2.5 goals @ 6/5

Goals haven't been an issue for Ferencvaros, and neither has it been a problem for Midtjylland, who have netted nine goals in their five outings across all competitions so far in 2024/25.

The two teams have bright players in attack who can cause all sorts of trouble to the opposing defences, so I think we will be in for a few goals on Tuesday. I'm backing over 2.5 goals because it has landed in two of both the hosts and the visitors' fixtures thus far.

They both know that they are one step away from the play-off round and beyond that lies a place in the group stage, so I am expecting a strong attacking performance from each team, which could set up a frantic end-to-end contest.
