Middlesbrough welcome Swansea City to the Riverside Stadium on Saturday afternoon (15:00) hoping to continue a late push towards the top-six places.

Boro enjoyed a victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Easter Monday, extending their unbeaten run to six games, while the Swans suffered a defeat at home to Queens Park Rangers on the same day. Here are our Middlesbrough vs Swansea predictions, including team news and match odds.

Middlesbrough vs Swansea Prediction

  • Middlesbrough to win @ 5/6
  • Under 2.5 goals @ EVS

Team News

Riley McGree and Alex Bangura both remain out for Middlesbrough, while Hayden Hackney suffered a knee injury in February and is not expected back until the final matches of the season.

Josh Coburn is another name on the Boro injury list, and the 21-year-old has been sidelined for nearly two months due to a groin issue, and doesn't look to be returning to the fold anytime soon.

As for the visitors, Przemyslaw Placheta is currently out of action due to a hamstring injury, and Harrison Ashby is also struggling for fitness ahead of this weekend's game.

Joe Allen was forced off with a toe injury in the defeat to QPR on Easter Monday, and the Wales international isn't expected back until the end of the month.

Match Odds

The hosts are 5/6 - or a theoretical 54.5% chance - to extend their unbeaten run to seven games, while Swansea are 16/5, implying they have a 23.8% chance to win their first away game since a 2-1 triumph over Sunderland on February 24.

The draw can be backed at 11/4, while both teams to score is available at 4/6.

Middlesbrough to win @ 5/6

Middlesbrough have posted four wins in their last six games and look a solid bet to see off Swansea here.

As mentioned, Michael Carrick's side are still looking to finish in the play-off places, and they're unbeaten at the Riverside Stadium in their past three outings. They currently sit ninth in the Championship standings, six points behind sixth-placed Norwich City.

In addition, Boro have been 2-1 winners against Swansea in two of their last three Championship encounters, so perhaps a correct score punt could be worth a look at 7/1.

Going off the form book, it looks as though Middlesbrough can extend their unbeaten run this Saturday, and Carrick's men should be confident of easing past the Swans, particularly at home where they've found their rhythm in recent weeks.

Under 2.5 goals @ EVS

Under 2.5 goals has landed in each of Middlesbrough's and Swansea's last five matches, so backing it at evens here looks a decent shout.

Boro have struggled to find the net on Teesside this season, scoring just 22 in 20 contests in front of their own supporters, while Swansea have scored just 27 times on the road, so all the signs point towards another low-scoring affair at the weekend.
