Old trafford manchester united

Manchester United, under Ruud van Nistelrooy until new boss Ruben Amorim takes over on November 11, welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday (16:30, Sky Sports Main Event).

Games between these two sides have traditionally been tense affairs, and another close encounter is predicted in my Manchester United vs Chelsea Bet Builder tips.

Draw

United would have liked to have Amorim in the dugout this weekend, but they will need to wait until later in the month to get their wish.

The Red Devils' only defeat in their last six games came against West Ham last weekend, with Ten Hag shown the door after their 2-1 loss.

On the whole, United have been harder to beat than they were last season, while the Blues have only lost two of their previous 11 games in all competitions.

Five of the last eight meetings between the two sides have ended in a draw, and another stalemate appears to be on the cards.

Over 2.5 goals

Recent meetings between these two sides have been lively affairs, with both teams scoring in each of the last six encounters.

The last three games have finished 4-3, 2-1 and 4-1, while the last 0-0 scoreline came in February 2021.

United have not kept a clean sheet in their last four, while Chelsea last recorded a shutout against Barrow in the League Cup in September.

Cole Palmer +1 shots on target

Chelsea's recent successes have been thanks to Cole Palmer's exploits in the final third and he has led by example once again this season.

He has registered 29 shots this season in nine appearances, with 12 of those finding the target.

He also averages 1.33 shots on target per game and he has scored seven goals from those efforts.

With United showing weaknesses at the back, expect Palmer to test Andre Onana in the home goal.

Alejandro Garnacho +1 shots on target

Like Palmer, Alejandro Garnacho is enjoying a purple patch of late, with the winger registering 18 shots on target in 15 games this season.

Garnacho's returns give him an average of 1.2 shots on target per game and he has been one of the most consistent players in United's starting XI this season.

He scored and grabbed an assist against Leicester in midweek and he should give Chelsea issues at Old Trafford.
