After Amad Diallo's late hat-trick spared their blushes against Southampton on Thursday, Manchester United will be hoping for a better display at Old Trafford when they entertain Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday in the Premier League (14:00).

The Seagulls were 2-0 winners at Ipswich Town in midweek and they are now unbeaten in their last four away trips in the top flight. Check out my Manchester United vs Brighton & Hove Albion prediction below, which also comes with the latest match odds and team news.

Manchester United vs Brighton & Hove Albion Betting Tips

  • Draw or Brighton and both teams to score @ 6/4
  • Amad Diallo anytime goalscorer @ 2/1

Manchester United vs Brighton & Hove Albion Odds

Manchester United have won three of their past six league games at Old Trafford, so their 11/10 price to win on Sunday looks tempting. As does the draw, which has been the outcome of three of Brighton's last four away trips in the top flight. The stalemate is on offer at 11/4, which carries an implied probability of 26.7%.

Brighton are 12/5 to come away with the three points, which they have managed on four occasions away from home this season.

Over 3.5 goals has struck in United's previous two appearances in the Premier League, which is on offer at an enticing 13/8 (38.1%).

Team News

Man United boss Ruben Amorim will be able to call upon Diogo Dalot on Sunday, following the full-back's suspension against Southampton. Dalot's return should allow Noussair Mazraoui to return to his more comfortable role at right wing-back, freeing hat-trick hero Diallo to play higher up the pitch.

The Red Devils are still struggling with a few injuries at the moment. Luke Shaw remains out with a calf problem, but it is hoped he could return to action in the coming weeks. Jonny Evans (muscular), Victor Lindelof (unspecified) and Mason Mount (thigh) are the other members in the treatment room.

After coming on the bench to have an impact in the comeback win over the Saints, Amorim could reward Joshua Zirkzee and Christian Eriksen with starts on Sunday. Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro were the back three in the week, but Harry Maguire could be considered to start to rotate with the latter.

Brighton were given four boosts at Ipswich as Tariq Lamptey, Georginio Rutter, Yankuba Minteh and Joao Pedro were all able to feature in the squad, but Fabian Hurzeler still has a lot of injury woes limiting his options.

James Milner (thigh), Ferdi Kadioglu (toe), Igor Julio (knee) and Mats Wieffer (thigh) are all ruled out of the trip to Manchester, while Jack Hinshelwood (knee), Evan Ferguson (ankle) and new recruit Diego Gomez are doubts to feature for the Seagulls.

Draw or Brighton and both teams to score @ 6/4

United avoided what would have been an embarrassing defeat to Southampton last time out, but they cannot rely on the individual brilliance of Diallo game after game. Another home game in quick succession gives them a chance to give the fans a more positive display overall, which Amorim in particular will be hoping for.

Brighton head here with some confidence after beating Ipswich on the road, and they will present an arguably tougher test to United than Southampton. The Seagulls are unbeaten in their last four away games in the league which shows that they are handling the pressures of being the away side, and they will sense an opportunity to extend that streak against the Red Devils.

United have to be significantly better here as Brighton have the resilience and quality to ensure they are not left with a chance to crawl their way back into the contest.

It's hard to know what you are going to get from United, while Brighton have been growing in recent games, even if there aren't many wins to show for it. The way United are at the minute gives anyone they face the opportunity to beat them, and Brighton could grasp that here.

I'd go with the double chance insurance of a draw, though, given how frequent stalemates have been for them of late (four of their last five league appearances). I've also boosted the selection with both teams to score because it has been a winning selection in three of the past four meetings between the two clubs in the Premier League.

Amad Diallo anytime goalscorer @ 2/1

After his solo brilliance saved United from embarrassment on Thursday, Diallo is taking centre stage as the Red Devils' most important attacking player. His hat-trick becomes that more impressive considering he was filling in at right wing-back.

Amorim will be desperate to get him more advanced from the off against Brighton after his latest display, which has now taken his goal tally to six in the top flight. Four of those have come in his last two outings, and so he will head into Sunday with plenty of confidence.

Brighton have been tough to break down in recent weeks, but Diallo has the star quality that can open them up. I think 2/1 offers good value for a man who has just scored a hat-trick.
