As mentioned in the introduction, City lost four games on the spin prior to the international break, and Pep Guardiola will want his side to make amends for that this weekend.

Spurs have been a bit of a bogey team for City since the Spaniard took the reins and have condemned Guardiola’s side to eight defeats in their 21 meetings, including the 2-1 Carabao Cup win that started the rot last month.

City have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine home outings, suggesting that they're vulnerable defensively, while seven of the last nine games at the Etihad have featured at least four goals.

I think another open encounter is likely this weekend, which should see the goal tally rise up.

Double chance - Spurs or draw

As mentioned, Ange Postecoglou's side are a bit of a bogey team for City, however, only one of Spurs' eight triumphs came at the Etihad Stadium -  a 3-2 success in February 2022 when a late goal from Harry Kane secured the points for an Antonio Conte-led outfit.

This could be a good time to play City, though. They've been underwhelming this season by their standards, and Spurs' adventurous nature against the Sky Blues was enough to earn a 3-3 draw last season.

Postecoglou will know he needs to get a more consistent tune from his side - they're within touching distance of the top four but they’ve been beaten twice at home by teams in the relegation zone.

City's star striker currently tops the Premier League goalscoring charts with 12 strikes in 11 games heading into Saturday's contest.

The 24-year-old scored in City's defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last time out, but also maintained his form in the international break, bagging four goals across three outings for Norway - including a hat-trick against Kazakhstan.

In addition, Haaland has scored three goals in four career appearances against Spurs, and considering the visitors have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine encounters across all competitions, he'll fancy his chances of scoring on Saturday evening.
