Manchester City resume Premier League duties when they welcome Crystal Palace to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon (15:00).

Pep Guardiola’s side are looking for a crucial three points to keep within touching distance of league leaders Liverpool, while Crystal Palace will be seeking redemption from last weekend’s disappointing 2-1 loss to the Reds.

Man City vs Crystal Palace Prediction

  • Man City to win and over 3.5 goals @ 11/8
  • Phil Foden to score anytime @ 11/8

Team News

Erling Haaland missed last weekend's trip to Luton Town and could be missing for this game too, while Jeremy Doku is also a doubt for the hosts due to a muscle injury.

Ederson was unavailable for the midweek clash with Red Star Belgrade due to illness, and it remains to be seen whether he'll be absent this weekend.

As for the visitors, Crystal Palace will once again be without the likes of Cheick Doucoure, Rob Holding, Dean Henderson and Eberechi Eze.

Match Odds

City are 2/11 to claim the three points here, while Palace are 14/1 to cause an upset, and the draw is priced up at 6/1.

Both teams to score can be backed at 6/5, while City to win to nil is 4/5, and 28/1 for Palace to win and keep a clean sheet.

Man City to win and over 3.5 goals @ 11/8

Manchester City are the Premier League’s highest scorers this term, netting 38 times in 16 games, so I think there could be plenty of goals on the cards this weekend.

In fact, eight of the last nine meetings between these sides at the Etihad have seen four or more goals, with both teams adding to that total in four of those clashes.

City, who are normally so resolute at the back, have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 Premier League games, and have conceded to lowly Wolves and Luton in that run, so Palace will fancy their chances of scoring here. The Eagles have shown they can frustrate the big teams, after their performance against Liverpool last week.

Phil Foden to score anytime @ 11/8

Erling Haaland is a doubt for this game, meaning that Julian Alvarez could lead the line for City on Saturday, and his keen eye for a pass could bring City joy in the attacking third.

Phil Foden, who has scored in three of the hosts’ last five Premier League home games, could be one beneficiary of the Argentinian’s selflessness, and he's looking to add to his tally of seven goals across all competitions this term.

He played 90 minutes last weekend against Luton, and his 45-minute cameo in midweek suggests he was being rested for this game, so I expect the England international to be involved from the get-go here.
