Manchester City welcome Brentford to the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night (19:30), as they look to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola's side are looking to bounce back from a 1-1 draw with Chelsea, while the visitors were comfortably beaten at home by Jurgen Klopp's men last time out.

Manchester City vs Brentford Prediction

  • Man City to win and both teams to score @ 8/5
  • Phil Foden to score anytime @ 8/5

Team News

Jack Grealish and Josko Gvardiol both remain on the treatment table for the hosts, but Guardiola could shuffle the pack here given the quick turnaround from the Chelsea clash at the weekend.

Brentford emerged from the defeat against Liverpool unscathed injury-wise, although Ethan Pinnock was ruled out before kick-off with an ankle concern, and he's expected to be absent once again. Rico Henry, Josh Dasilva, Kevin Schade, Aaron Hickey and Bryan Mbeumo also remain on the injury list for the Bees.

Match Odds

City are heavy-favourites to win at 2/11, the draw is 6/1 and the Brentford victory can be backed at 14/1.

Manchester City were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Chelsea on Saturday, but they have a good opportunity to bounce back against an out-of-form Brentford on Tuesday and get their title charge back on track.

The Bees have lost three of their last four matches, conceding at least three goals in each of those defeats, and have managed just two wins in their last 10 Premier League games, suggesting they are set to struggle against the champions who are unbeaten in their last 15 matches in a run that has included 13 victories.

However, I fancy Brentford to get on the scoresheet, as the City backline looked vulnerable against Chelsea at the weekend.

Phil Foden to score anytime @ 8/5

Phil Foden netted a hat-trick in the reverse fixture against the Bees and he'll be looking to increase his goal tally once more.

He has registered 18 shots in his last four matches and could find the net on Tuesday. He's started every match this year for City, so I'm expecting him to play a major role against the Bees.

Phil Foden to score anytime at 8-5
