Bournemouth got their first win of the season against Burnley in their last fixture, but now they face a tough test at the Etihad, where they take on Manchester City at 15:00 on Saturday. Below we’ve previewed the match and picked out a few tips for you to consider.

Man City vs Bournemouth Tips

  • Man City -3 handicap @ 15/8
  • Man City 5-0 Bournemouth @ 11/1
  • Erling Haaland to score first @ 7/4

Team News

Manchester City are only without Kevin De Bruyne and Manuel Akanji heading into this game, but they do have a Champions League match with Young Boys to consider in midweek.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth are without Tyler Adams, Ryan Fredericks, Neto and Lewis Cook, with second choice goalkeeper Ionut Radu expected to start in goal.

Match Odds

Manchester City are 1/11 to win this match, while Bournemouth are rank outsiders at 22/1 for the win. A draw can be backed at 9/1, while over 2.5 goals is 1/3 and BTTS is 5/4

Man City -3 handicap @ 15/8

Manchester City, as we have just mentioned, are so short to win this game outright. Against a side who have won just once all season, and that was with the benefit of a dodgy VAR call, Pep Guardiola’s men are likely to run riot here. Bournemouth have conceded a huge 21 goals in ten games so far, and are probably going to spend 90 minutes under the cosh here.

As a result, we can expect a big home win. Manchester City to win by four goals (-3 handicap) is priced at 15/8 and that will be my first pick here. This is going to be a massively one-sided encounter.

Man City 5-0 Bournemouth @ 11/1

Manchester City are going to win this match and win it handsomely. There’s not much value at all in backing a home win, or even a home win to nil, but if we can pick out a correct score then we can find a big price. This feels like a big win for Manchester City, and they are incredibly unlikely to concede.

Meanwhile, they will be on a high having battered Manchester United, and rested after a midweek without a fixture. Bournemouth were defeated by Liverpool on Wednesday and won’t fancy this trip. City scored five at home against Fulham earlier in the season, and I’m expecting a similar display here.

Erling Haaland to score first @ 7/4

A shorter price, but surely a good pick. Haaland has scored five goals in his last three games and is clearly in a purple patch. Now, he is likely to be substituted in the second half if the result is comfortable, so backing him to score first, as he did last weekend feels like the right move. With 11 goals to his name so far, he will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing this Bournemouth back line.
