Andy Robertson remains out for Liverpool with a shoulder injury so Kostas Tsimikas will start at left-back. Thiago also remains out, while Luis Diaz is likely to miss this one given the situation going on in Colombia with his father. 

For Luton, Mads Anderson, Dan Potts, Sambi Lokonga and Amari'i Bell will all miss this one, as will Reece Burke, although he is edging closer to a return.

Liverpool to win

The simple pick here. Liverpool are going for the title and currently sit in 4th in the table. They’ve only lost one game so far this season, and that was the controversial loss to Tottenham when they had a goal wrongly disallowed and finished the game with nine men. 

Luton simply don’t look like they have the quality to compete with the elite teams at this level, and have only got one win to their name by contrast. They are yet to win at Kenilworth Road and are likely to find life tough again here. 

Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez to score

Liverpool’s attackers are likely to enjoy a field day in front of goal, so picking out a couple of scorers feels sensible. Mo Salah has been in remarkable form this term, already hitting double figures for goals, as well as registering four assists. 

He will be trusted to find the net against Luton, while Darwin Nunez has also found his goalscoring touch in recent weeks. He scored a wonderful goal at Bournemouth in midweek and scored against Nottingham Forest last weekend. With Luis Diaz out, Nunez is likely to be given a start in that central role, with Diogo Jota pushed out wide.

To boost our odds, we’ve picked out two Luton players to pick up yellow cards. Marvelous Nakamba and Issa Kabore have both been booked three times this season, the joint-highest in the Luton squad.

In this game, they are going to have to get stuck in and up against a tricky left winger, right wing-back Kabore is in for a tough time. Meanwhile, Nakamba’s job is to bring steel to the midfield, but I feel he may stray over the line up against Liverpool’s talented trio. 16/1 for this Bet Builder feels like a smart choice.
