Liverpool kicked off their Champions League bid with a 3-1 comeback win at AC Milan and they face Italian opposition again in their second assignment as Bologna visit Anfield.

Bologna were held to a goalless draw at home by Shakhtar Donetsk in their own European opener and have struggled to get going this season after a host of summer exits, and the departure of manager Thiago Motta.

The Rossoblu have managed just one win in seven games across all competitions but they have also only lost once. We’ve picked out three player bets ahead of Wednesday’s huge game and our Liverpool vs Bologna Bet Builder pays out at 14/1.

Liverpool vs Bologna Bet Builder Tips

  • Trent Alexander-Arnold 1+ Assists
  • Remo Freuler To Be Shown A Card

Alexander-Arnold can add to assists haul

Liverpool’s marauding full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold recorded his first assist for his club this season in the 3-1 win at the San Siro and he can repeat that trick against Serie A opponents at Anfield.

The England international now has three assists in his last five games for club and country and as always has been providing a key outlet for Liverpool down the right flank.

Alexander-Arnold is in fifth spot in the Premier League’s Big Chances Created list with four so far, while he made four key passes in the win over Milan and averages a solid 2.3 per-game in the league.

The visitors’ backline has been fairly reliable this season, despite losing star man Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal over the summer, but they have struggled when faced with pace - most notably during a 3-0 defeat to Napoli in Serie A - and Alexander-Arnold has the tools to hurt this Bologna defence.

Freuler could end up with a booking

Bologna’s Remo Freuler could be in for a busy evening in the holding role in midfield and the Switzerland international looks a good contender to pick up a yellow card.

Freuler was given his first Bologna caution of the season in the 1-1 draw with Europa League champions Atalanta last time out, although he did pick up one card in two games for his country over the last international break.

Last season, Freuler accrued up nine yellow cards in 32 league games and in the campaign prior to that he was booked four times in the Premier League during a stint with Nottingham Forest, despite finding himself out of favour for periods.

Salah can force a few saves

Mohamed Salah has two goals in his last two games and is a clear contender for an anytime goal, but at a slightly bigger price backing the Liverpool star to record two shots on target could be the better option.

Salah had five shots in total against Milan, two of which were on target, but he didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet.

The 32-year-old does have four goals in six Premier League appearances and has been accurate with his attempts, averaging 3.3 shots-per-game overall and 2.3 per-game on target.

A few chances should come Salah’s way on Wednesday and he can at least get two shots on target.
