Liverpool vs Bayer Leverkusen Bet Builder Tips: Mac Allister to be booked in 11/1 shot

Liverpool welcome Bayer Leverkusen to Anfield on Tuesday (20:00, Prime Video) in the Champions League, as the visiting manager Xabi Alonso returns to the club with whom he spent five years as a player.
The Reds are just one of two teams to have taken maximum points from their first three matches, and they will look to keep their run going here. Leverkusen are unbeaten themselves with seven points collected so far, so a cracking game could be on the cards on Merseyside. Read on for my Liverpool vs Bayer Leverkusen bet builder tips, which pay out at 11/1.

Liverpool vs Bayer Leverkusen Odds
Liverpool or draw
This is shaping up to be a fascinating encounter as Liverpool have a 100 per cent record in Europe this season, and they are taking on last year's Bundesliga champions, who have been experiencing a lot of draws recently.
You have two strong attacking teams filled with quality, so they should be able to put on a show at Anfield. With Liverpool at home, it is hard to see them not coming away from this match with a result.
I think in all of their Champions League matches so far, I've expected them to win. But this is the first time in which I think their opponents can get something, even if it isn't three points.
It feels like Leverkusen are in need of a big result to help them push on in their domestic league, and they might just pull off a draw here. On the other hand, I can also see Liverpool's winning streak continue.
Mohamed Salah 3+ shots
Liverpool's star man, Mohamed Salah, is expected to have a starring role on Tuesday night having already contributed a goal and two assists in the first three European matches this campaign. The Egyptian will be key if the Reds are to get the better of Alonso's side and claim their fourth win in a row.
Having delved into his stats in this competition so far, the 32-year-old has registered 10 shots, which averages at 3.33 per game, yet only four of his attempts have been on target.
I am playing slightly safe with this selection as a result, and I'm backing Salah's shooting trend to continue by picking the attacker to have at least three shots in the match.
Both teams to score
I am confident in backing both teams to score here because of the quality that is going to be on show in L4. BTTS has only landed in one of Liverpool's European encounters so far, which game on matchday one against AC Milan, but I can see this tally rising against Leverkusen as the visitors are yet to blank in the Champions League.
Each side will be providing the other with one of their toughest tests of the season to date, and as such, the two defences are likely to be in for a very challenging 90 minutes.
This is enhanced because of the amount of goals the two teams have scored in their respective leagues so far this season, with Liverpool producing 19 to Leverkusen's 20.
The Reds have prolific goalscorers in Salah, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz to call upon, while the visitors have Victor Boniface and Florian Wirtz.
Alexis Mac Allister to receive a card
The midfield battle will be key in this game and it should be an interesting one between Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister and Leverkusen's Granit Xhaka.
Argentine Mac Allister has already been penalised five times in the Champions League for fouls committed, which in turn has seen him booked twice. He is walking a tightrope now though as he is one card away from being suspended for their home clash with Real Madrid later this month.
Unfortunately for him and his team, I think we will see him pick up a suspension on Tuesday as he's not going to alter his tenacious style in the middle of the park. He's coming up against some talented flair players such as Wirtz and Martin Terrier who will be able to draw him in for fouls, and that should be an ongoing thing throughout the evening.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Granit Xhaka to commit 1+ fouls
I think this game could be an end-to-end thriller, so I am expecting plenty of scenarios in which midfields and defences are left exposed.
Former Arsenal man Xhaka will be just as busy as Mac Allister in the middle of the park, and he himself has committed two fouls in the first three matches, which for him is quite an impressively low return.
I also fancy Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold to commit a foul in this match because he can be caught napping at times with some of the space he occupies. With him coming up against one of the Europe's hottest talents in Wirtz, he's going to be drawn into a lot of one-on-one duels down his side of the pitch, and I'm sure the German international will be targeting him.
