Liverpool vs Norwich Prediction: The Reds to cruise into the fifth round

Liverpool will be facing a familiar opponent in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon (14:30) as they welcome Norwich City to Anfield. These two sides met in the fifth round back in 2021-22, also at Anfield, with the Reds winning 2-1.

This particular clash will see old friends reunite on the touchline in Jurgen Klopp and David Wagner. The Norwich boss has come under pressure at times this season but he has been getting a tune out of his players in recent weeks as they have lost just once since the New Year.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are top of the Premier League, have reached the Carabao Cup final, and are through to the knockout stage of the Europa League. No matter how good Norwich's form has been of late, this will be a very difficult contest for them.

Liverpool vs Norwich Betting Tips

  • Diogo Jota to score 2+ goals - 18/5
  • Liverpool to win to nil - EVS

Match Odds

There isn't much value to be had in backing Liverpool to win at 1/8. If you think Norwich can earn a replay, a draw is priced at 15/2, while they are 16/1 to stun their hosts.

Both teams to score can be backed at 4/5 and over 2.5 goals is 1/4.

Team News

Liverpool are missing key man Mohamed Salah who is on Africa Cup of Nations duty, but the Egyptian has suffered a muscle injury that could see him miss the remainder of the tournament. Wataru Endo is with Japan at the Asian Cup.

Left-back Andrew Robertson returned to the squad against Fulham in midweek following his lengthy absence with a dislocated shoulder. Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, Joel Matip, Ben Doak, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas remain in the medical room.

Danny Batth is sidelined for Norwich after picking up a hamstring problem in their third-round replay with Bristol Rovers.

Diogo Jota to score 2+ goals @ 18/5

Liverpool's Portuguese star Diogo Jota, or Jota the slotter as he is known by the Anfield faithful has been doing his part in scoring goals in Salah's absence. He netted a brace in his last Premier League outing at Bournemouth but was unable to find the back of the net at Fulham in midweek.

We don't think this will have knocked his confidence and he will be raring to go against the Canaries at Anfield this weekend. The attacker has faced Norwich six times in the past and has produced three goals against them. He will be eager to add to his tally against them on Sunday, and we like the 18/5 price for him to score 2+ goals.

Jota has 11 goals in all competitions this season and he will definitely want more come May. In Salah's absence, more responsibility will be handed to him and he is the kind of player who can thrive off the pressure.

Klopp will likely deploy Jota through the middle once again as he seeks a simple progression to the fifth round. He will still be riding a high from his emphatic display against Bournemouth last weekend, and we think that he can have a huge role to play in this cup tie.

Liverpool to win to nil @ EVS

We do expect to see the gulf in class between Premier League and the Championship to be on show in this contest and it is hard to see anything other than a comfortable win for the Reds.

At EVS, we think there is value to be had in backing them to win to nil against a team that has failed to beat them in over 30 years. The Canaries' defensive record also strengthens this selection as they have failed to keep a clean sheet on the road since August - and they are about to go to one of the toughest grounds in English football.
