Liverpool go in search of a third straight Premier League victory when they play host to Luton Town at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s men know they can’t afford any slip-ups, especially against lower-half opposition, if they are going to end the German’s reign as Premier League champions.

The Hatters head to Merseyside without a win in their last three games, but they are still battling hard to survive and anything they can collect on Wednesday will further boost their chances.

Liverpool vs Luton Prediction

  • Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals @ 4/9
  • Luis Diaz to score at anytime @ 13/10

Team News

Liverpool are facing more injury problems, with Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota added to their list of fitness concerns.

Both are expected to sit out the clash, while Darwin Nunez and Alisson are also rated doubtful, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Alcantara and Dominik Szoboszlai already sidelined.

Luton’s latest injury absentee is Elijah Adebayo, with the striker suffering a hamstring injury in the defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

Rob Edwards is already missing Marvelous Nakamba and Mads Anderson through injury.

Match Odds

With Liverpool unbeaten on home soil in the last 12 months, it’s no surprise to see the hosts as 2/11 favourites to take the three points.

Although Luton have won twice on Merseyside this season, with league and FA Cup victories at Everton, the Hatters can be backed at 12/1 to collect another away victory while the draw is available at 13/2.

After bagging a goal on his return at Brentford, Salah heads the goalscoring odds with the Egyptian star 11/4 to score first and 4/7 to find the net at anytime on Wednesday.

Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals @ 4/9

The last team to win at Anfield were Real Madrid a year ago, while Liverpool’s last Premier League home defeat came against Leeds United in October 2022.

The Reds’ impressive home record is not a shock, but something which may surprise many is that Klopp’s men have not kept a clean sheet at Anfield since 17th December. That’s seven matches and that includes cup matches against Norwich and Fulham.

With the hosts’ current injury issues, Luton will fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet, especially as they have scored in each of their last seven games in all competitions.

Any goal may just be a consolation though, with the Hatters facing a Liverpool team that has scored three or more goals in four of their last five home matches.

Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals at 4-9

Luis Diaz to score at anytime @ 13/10

If Darwin Nunez is ruled out, Liverpool may be down to just three out-and-out attacking options in Diaz, Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo.

Colombian Diaz goes into the match having scored in the Reds’ last two home matches, against Chelsea and Burnley.

The 27-year-old also netted a crucial equaliser in the reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road and looks a good bet to find the back of the net again in midweek.

Luis Diaz to score anytime at 13-10
