Wrexham had hoped to challenge for the play-offs this season, but even they Hollywood stars would have not been able to predict just how well they have started. They are currently top of the table after winning five of their seven matches so far, and next up, they face a tough trip to Brisbane Road to take on Leyton Orient (15:00, Saturday).

Orient started slowly but they have since picked up seven points from their last three games and have climbed away from danger. Below you can find my Leyton Orient vs Wrexham prediction for this League 1 clash.

Leyton Orient vs Wrexham Betting Tips

  • Over 3.5 goals @ 9/4
  • Wrexham to win both halves @ 7/1

Team News

Richie Wellens is likely to stick with the same line-up that he has picked for the past three games, given they have been so good in the last couple of weeks. QPR loanee Charlie Kelman is doing well up front and should continue after his recent form, while former Manchester United youngster Ethan Galbraith is shining in the number 10 role.

Meanwhile, Phil Parkinson looks likely to be without defender Luke Bolton again after he missed the last two matches with a foot injury, while Jack Marriott is pushing to be recalled having been benched last weekend. Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer started in the 2-1 win over Crawley, but the former Peterborough man could offer something different to the attack.

Leyton Orient vs Wrexham Odds

Leyton Orient are priced at 15/8 to win this game, with Wrexham available at 6/4. A draw can be backed at 23/10, over 2.5 goals is 10/11 and BTTS is 4/6.

Over 3.5 goals @ 9/4

This should be a cracking encounter. Leyton Orient played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Peterborough last time out and I think we will see plenty of goals again here. In seven of Wrexham’s nine games in all competitions this term there have been over 2.5 goals, but I’m willing to push it a little further for this one.

Over 3.5 goals seems like a decent price here, given the attacking quality of both teams. I’m backing Wrexham to win this one, and their attacking talents should be able to take Orient apart. Palmer, Mullin and Marriott should score plenty of goals this season, while the hosts also pose their own threats. Goals at both ends for me.

Wrexham to win both halves @ 7/1

I think Wrexham will win this one based on what we have seen this season. That’s not a big statement to make given they are the league leaders, and this will be a tough game given Leyton Orient’s resurgence, but the Welsh side have the individual class to get results.

I also believe they can win both halves at a big price. They have a far bigger wage bill than the London club, and ultimately that should pay dividends on the pitch. The Welsh side are averaging two goals a game so far, and I expect that to continue on Saturday.
