The Championship returns following the international break and league leaders Leicester will hope to get back to winning ways as they host Watford. This fixture, most famed for Troy Deeney’s late play-off winner in 2013, could see the Foxes pull briefly clear of second-placed Ipswich Town, who kick-off at 17:30 on Saturday.

Below we have previewed the match and come up with a couple of betting selections.

Leicester vs Watford Tips

  • Leicester to win with -1 handicap @ 6/4
  • Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to score @ 11/4

Team News

Leicester duo Harry Souttar and Patson Daka both scored during the international break while Callum Doyle remains out with a long-term knee injury. Enzo Maresca doesn’t have any other issues heading into this one and should come into this one with a fully-fit squad. Watford meanwhile have a clean slate in terms of injuries and Valerien Ismael will be able to field his strongest XI.

Match Odds

Leicester City are 1/2 to win this game, while Watford are the outsiders at 5/1. A draw is available at 11/4, BTTS is 10/11 and over 2.5 goals is 5/6.

Leicester to win with -1 handicap @ 6/4

Leicester have lost their last two matches 1-0, after an almost perfect start to the season. The Foxes have relied upon their exceptional squad to win games so far, and there's no doubt that they have one of the three strongest teams in the division.

Enzo Maresca has got his side playing well and at home they’ve been impressive, losing just twice. With Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy, they boast two of the finest strikers in the league, while Watford are a mid-table outfit this season. The Hornets are unbeaten in their last five, but that is slightly deceiving given they have faced Rotherham, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town in that time.

In my opinion, there will be a clear difference between these two on the pitch and that will play out on Saturday. The 6/4 on Leicester to win with a -1 handicap looks like the choice bet here.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to score @ 11/4

Dewsbury-Hall is arguably the best player in the Championship this season. His immense quality is perhaps only matched by Sunderland’s Jack Clarke, and the Leicester midfielder has five goals and six assists to his name this season already.

Although Iheanacho has scored six this term, the odds on him to find the net are far shorter and don’t offer the same value as Dewsbury-Hall at 11/4. Given his importance to the Foxes, we can expect him to play the full 90 minutes and take advantage of the dominance his side should have.
