Leicester City resume their Premier League campaign on Saturday lunchtime as they host Chelsea at the King Power Stadium (12:30, TNT Sports 1). The Foxes are striving to survive having won the Championship last season and this weekend they will come up against the manager who lifted the title with them - Enzo Maresca.

The Italian left for Stamford Bridge this summer and will now visit his former stomping ground for the first time. In order to give you the best chance of winning a bet on this game with Betfred, below you will find the Leicester City vs Chelsea stats as we dissect the numbers to provide you with the best information possible.

Leicester City vs Chelsea Stats

  • Leicester 15th in form table
  • Chelsea ninth in form table
  • Leicester's BTTS success rate - 82%
  • Chelsea's BTTS success rate - 73%

Form Guide

Over the last six matches, Leicester currently sit 15th in the form table having won two, drawn one and lost three of their recent outings. The Foxes were beaten 3-0 by Manchester United in their final game before the international break while Chelsea are ninth in the form table, having won two, drawn three and lost one of their last six.

The Blues drew 1-1 with Arsenal ahead of this two-week break, as Pedro Neto scored an equaliser against Mikel Arteta’s underperforming title challengers. In terms of home and away form for the campaign so far, Leicester have won just one of their five home matches so far - a 1-0 success vs Bournemouth - while they have picked up home draws against Tottenham and Everton.

Football Odds

Chelsea’s away form ranks as the third-best in the league, as they have won three, drawn one and lost once on the road. Their sole defeat came at Anfield, while the other two points they dropped came at Old Trafford, but Wolves, West Ham and Bournemouth were seen off with ease earlier in the season.

Going into this one then, you’d have to suggest the form guide is weighted in Chelsea’s favour, and some of their better performances this season have come away from Stamford Bridge.

Head-to-head

The head-to-head record between these two teams is also weighted in favour of the away side, as you would expect. They’ve met a total of 24 times in the past, with Leicester only coming out as victors on four occasions. Chelsea have won 14 and there have been six draws, with the Foxes scoring 23 goals and Chelsea 45 over their historic meetings.

Leicester vs Chelsea Odds

The first time they met was back in 1905 when Chelsea came out 1-0 winners in Division Two, while their most recent meeting came in the FA Cup last season as Chelsea won 4-2 back in March 2024. Arguably their most famous meeting came in the FA Cup final in 2021 as a wondergoal from Youri Tielemens secured Leicester’s first ever FA Cup triumph at Wembley.

Goals

Leicester have seen over 2.5 goals in seven of their 11 Premier League matches so far, while for Chelsea over 2.5 goals has come in five times this season in the league. It does appear as though both teams could score in this match however as in terms of BTTS, Leicester have a success rate of 82 per cent this season, having scored and conceded in nine matches so far.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have seen both teams score in 73 per cent of their matches so far, so I would be tempted to go for BTTS as a selection at 4/7, having taken a look at these statistics. However, both teams to score in both halves is yet to come in for either side during the 2024/25 season.

Leicester City vs Chelsea - Both Teams To Score Yes

Odds correct at time of publishing.

In terms of individuals, Cole Palmer is Chelsea’s top scorer this term with seven goals in 11 PL games so far, while he also has five assists to his name. Nicolas Jackson is also enjoying a profitable campaign with six goals, while Noni Madueke has four. On the other side of the fence, veteran striker Jamie Vardy remains Leicester’s main man, with four goals to his name already.

Chelsea have scored a total of 21 goals in the league, the same number as league leaders Liverpool and just one fewer than Manchester City, while they have conceded 13. Leicester have scored 14 and conceded 21 in their 11 league games to date.

Corners

I know corners are a popular market so let’s take a look at how both teams are getting on. Leicester are averaging 3.1 corners per game for them, and seven against, giving them an average of 10.1 total corners in matches they play. That ranks them somewhere in mid-table, while interestingly, Chelsea are averaging the second-fewest total corners per match in the league this season.

Only Aston Villa (9.1), are averaging less than Chelsea’s 9.2, as Maresca’s men are currently having 5.6 corners per match and conceding just 3.6. Judging by these stats and Chelsea’s stinginess, perhaps it is worth considering the unders on the corners market.

Cards

Leics chels cards

Chelsea have picked up the most yellow cards in the Premier League this season (42), which makes adding a couple of away cards to a bet builder or backing a single a decent option. Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana are the biggest offenders in the entire division, having both picked up six yellows already. I'd be looking to one or both of that dirty duo to pick up another slice of cheddar here, while Facundo Buonanotte is Leicester's main man for cards, but he is suspended having picked up his fifth of the campaign last time out.

On the whole, Leicester rank seventh for cards in the league this season, and so I wouldn't be against backing the overs when it comes to cards. An early kick-off could have a little more spice than usual between these two, with Andy Madley the man in the middle. He's gave six yellows in his last outing, while he has also sent off two players (both West Ham) already this term.

Shots on Target

Jackson is leading the way ahead of Palmer for Chelsea when it comes to shots on target, with the forward having had 15 in 11 league games, compared to the Englishman's 13. Only Erling Haaland and Mo Salah have had more efforts on target than the Senegal international and so he'd be my first pick to get an effort away at goal at the King Power, especially when we consider Leicester's defensive frailty.

I'd steer clear from backing a home player to have a SOT however, given Buonanotte is suspended and he leads the way with only seven efforts on target this term.
