Leganes vs Barcelona Predictions, Odds & Betting Preview

Barcelona travel to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque on Saturday, with an opportunity to stretch their lead at the top of La Liga to seven points.
On paper, a game against relegation-threatened Leganés, who are currently in 18th place, should not provide too many problems for Hansi Flick’s impressive side. However, Barça fans won’t need reminding that their side was on the wrong end of a shock 1-0 scoreline when the sides met earlier this season.
Leganes vs Barcelona Betting Tips
Leganés took the lead in that match after just four minutes, thanks to a goal from defender Sergio González. They inevitably dropped deep and put almost everyone behind the ball, and surprisingly Barcelona toiled for the remainder of the game without managing to find a breakthrough.
That game was back in December when Barça were going through their most challenging period in an otherwise excellent season. They’ve very much recovered from that blip though and the Catalan giants extended their unbeaten start to 2025 to 23 matches with a dominant 4-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in midweek.
While the Germans did create opportunities in that game, it was another brilliant, big-game performance from Flick’s men who have tended to rise to the occasion when it really matters this term.
All the goals came courtesy of a front three of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha that has really clicked, with all three players enjoying their best seasons in Barcelona colours to date.
Flick deserves enormous credit for getting more out of a number of these Barça players than has been evident in recent seasons, with Pedri also currently producing the best football of his career so far in midfield.
They remain in serious contention for the treble, but Barcelona did drop points in their most recent league game, a 1-1 draw against Real Betis at the Estadi Olímpic. That was only after a nine-game winning streak in La Liga though, and it wasn’t really a costly blow given Real Madrid had lost at home to Valencia earlier in the day.
Given what happened four months ago, the visitors can certainly not afford to take Leganés lightly in this match. Los Pepineros have also beaten Atlético Madrid 1-0 at home since then, while they competed well at the Bernabéu only a fortnight ago in a match they led 2-1, before ultimately succumbing to a narrow 3-2 defeat with some big decisions going against them.
While they’ve caused problems for the big clubs, truth be told, Leganés have not been doing enough in the games that will likely determine whether they manage to beat the drop on their return to the top flight. Despite claiming those two major scalps, it’s only three wins from 17 league games overall for Borja Jiménez’s team.
They claimed a dramatic victory in the South Madrid derby last month against Getafe, thanks to an acrobatic effort from Diego García in the 92nd minute, the only goal in an otherwise poor game.
However, they have only taken one point from four matches since then, and that also came courtesy of a very late goal, with Dani Raba’s 87th minute penalty denying Osasuna victory at Butarque on Monday night.
Raba has largely carried his side’s attacking threat in recent weeks. The 29-year-old has netted six times in his last seven appearances in La Liga, and is the player most capable of asking questions of the visiting defence in this match.
Team News:
The home team head into this without any new selection problems. They are still missing Borna Barisic and Enric Franquesa who are both recovering from ACL injuries. We may see Jiménez pick an extra midfielder for this match, with Óscar Rodríguez a strong option to return following suspension.
As for Barcelona, it’s an altogether more unpredictable picture, with Flick needing to decide whether he really needs to rest key players ahead of the return leg of their Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund, given their four-goal advantage.
He’s still missing Marc-André ter Stegen, Marc Casadó, Marc Bernal and Dani Olmo to injuries. Ronald Araújo, Gavi, Ferran Torres, Eric García and Gerard Martín are the most likely players to rotate in.
Barcelona are the clear favourites at 3/10 to win this match and take another step towards clinching the title. The Draw is priced at 9/2, while Leganés are priced at 8/1 to complete their first ever league double over the Catalan giants.
If you see Flick’s side struggling against this opposition again, you can also back Leganés or Draw at 23/10 in the Double Chance market. The home team are priced at 11/4 to win either half, while Los Pepineros are on offer at 8/13 to score over 0.5 goals.
You can back Barcelona to score over 2.5 goals at 1/1, while Barcelona -1.00 Handicap is on offer at 5/6. The visitors are priced at 4/5 to score in both halves.
Flick will likely start Ferran Torres ahead of Robert Lewandowski up top in one of the next two matches. It’s tough to know which way around that will be, but the in-form Spain international is priced at 4/1 to score first here and 1/1 to score anytime.
You can also back Raphinha to score anytime at 6/5, while Lamine Yamal is priced at 7/4 in the same market. From a home perspective, Dani Raba is the most likely source of a goal and he’s available at 12/1 to score first, long odds given six of his seven league goals this term have come before the interval.
Bet 1 - Leganés +2.00 Handicap @ 9/10
Barcelona will still have four more games to play in April after this one, including the trip to Dortmund and a Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid. Therefore, we are likely to see a degree of rotation here, with a quick turnaround following a big performance on Wednesday night.
That could mean as many as three changes at the back, and Leganés will feel they can ask questions in this game, and they should certainly be the fresher of the two teams.
The gulf in quality is still enormous of course, but with Jiménez’s men fighting for their lives and tending to relish the big games this term, the hosts are capable of being competitive, and I’m backing Leganés +2.00 Handicap at 9/10.
Bet 2 - Dani Raba 1+ shots & Leganés most booking points @ 7/5
Raba has tended to operate just off a striker or on the right flank this season, but with their other forwards misfiring, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was pushed up top for this game, with an extra player coming in to bulk up the midfield.
Given his current scoring streak, he’s unlikely to be shy about shooting when the opportunity presents itself, and Barcelona remain a side that takes risks and rarely completely nullifies the threat of an opposing team.
Leganés are not a particularly dirty team, but they may try to get physical here at times and look to disrupt the flow of this expansive Barça side which heads into the match with the second best disciplinary record in the division.
Given that, I’m using the Bet Builder to back Dani Raba 1+ shots and Leganés most booking points at 7/5.
