Leeds United will be looking to return to winning ways on Tuesday night as they host Stoke City at Elland Road (KO, 19:45). The Whites followed up their FA Cup exit to Chelsea with a disappointing 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town on Saturday, a result which, coupled with Ipswich Town's 2-0 win at Plymouth Argyle, has left them outside the automatic promotion places.

Stoke are at the opposite end of the table in 22nd, but their weekend win over Middlesbrough has offered them in hope in their survival bid. Below we have detailed our predictions for this Championship clash and suggested a couple of betting tips to consider.

Leeds vs Stoke Betting Tips:

  • Leeds to win and both teams to score @ 15/8
  • Highest-scoring half - first-half @ 2/1

Team News

Whites head coach Daniel Farke has confirmed that Jaidon Anthony will miss this match due to personal reasons, and Jamie Shackleton is sidelined for the next couple of games as he is following concussion protocols.

There will also be a late call on Junior Firpo who had calf problems after the West Yorkshire derby, while Pascal Struijk is still injured.

The visitors may look to stick with the same starting XI that brought them success on the weekend. Jordan Thompson is serving the second of a two-game suspension and Luke McNally is also still out with a thigh complaint.

Match Odds

Leeds are strongly fancied to pick up three points on Tuesday, with Betfred pricing the Whites at 1/3 for victory. While the hosts are considered a 75 per cent chance to win, Stoke's odds of 15/2 imply that they have an 11.8 per cent chance of coming out on top.

The draw is offered at 4/1 and you can back both teams to score at 5/6.

Leeds to win and both teams to score @ 15/8

The Whites have conceded the fewest goals in the league (28) and last allowed a Championship goal from open play in 2023.

However, both teams have scored in eight of Stoke's last nine away matches, and despite only Sheffield Wednesday (29) and Rotherham United (30) finding the net on fewer occasions than them (33), only nine clubs have scored more times from a set-piece than the Potters (10).

Their second strike against Boro on Saturday came from a well-worked corner, and Leeds have conceded from a set-piece in each of their last two Championship games.

Ultimately, the hosts should have too much for their opponents as they look to avenge their 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture last October.

Leeds to beat Stoke & BTTS at 15-8

Highest-scoring half - first-half @ 2/1

There could also be some value in backing for there to be more goals in the first-half than the second 45-plus minutes.

10 of Leeds' 17 league games at Elland Road have seen this bet land, and the exact same numbers can be found for Stoke's away matches, including four of their last five away from Staffordshire.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see the Whites race into an early lead before settling things down a touch in the second-half.

Highest-scoring half - second-half in Leeds vs Stoke at 2-1
