Oldham vs Notts County Prediction: Happy travels again for JJ

Three wins from their last four games, including back-to-back victories last week, have reignited Notts County's automatic promotions hopes in League 2, with Martin Paterson's side currently fourth, just two points behind third-placed Cambridge United, and four off second-placed MK Dons, whom they boast a game in hand on.
On Tuesday (19:45 GMT, Sky Sports+), Notts take on in-form Oldham Athletic, who are unbeaten in their last nine matches, seven of which they have won, to rise up to 11th, four points behind the play-offs. Read below for my Oldham vs Notts County predictions, supported by the latest team news and match odds, ahead of this fourth-tier fixture at Boundary Park.

Oldham vs Notts County Stats

Both Teams To Score and Total Goals Over/Under +2.5 - Yes & Over 2.5 @ 11/8
Backing both teams to score, and over 2.5 goals, could be your best bet on Tuesday, despite Oldham sitting 19th in League 2's Over 2.5 Goals table, with just 41% (15) of their 37 matches seeing at least three strikes scored.
That's because in 2026, that number has risen to 50%, with half of their 14 games going over 2.5 goals, including two of their last four.
Notts, meanwhile, rank sixth, with 55% (21) of their 38 games producing at least three goals, including all four so far this month. Paterson's side are also sixth in the Both Teams To Score table, with 58% (22) of their matches seeing both sides strike at least once, and three of their four in March have seen the BTTS-Yes & Over 3.5 Goals line land.
Oldham are bottom of the BTTS table with just 38% (14) of their league contests this season seeing both teams score, and they've kept eight clean sheets in their last nine games.
However, they may find it difficult to stop Notts, who have struck nine times across their last couple of fixtures, from breaching their back line on Tuesday, while they should be confident themselves of getting on the scoresheet having scored in eight of their last nine and seeing their next opponents conceded in four of their last five.
Notts won October's reverse meeting at Meadow Lane 3-1, and I can see a similar return of goals at Boundary Park this week.

Anytime Goalscorer - Jodi Jones (NOT) @ 21/10
Notts winger Jodi Jones has been in superb goalscoring form since the turn of the year, netting six of his seven league goals this season after New Year's Day.
The 28-year-old has been particularly productive since the middle of February, scoring five times in his last eight appearances, including one in both of his side's wins over Accrington Stanley (0-4) and Cheltenham Town (5-2) last week.
Jones has scored in three of his last four away outings, so he's not a player who relies on home comforts, and the Malta international has the skillset to break down a stubborn Latics defence on Tuesday.
