LASK vs Union Saint-Gilloise Prediction: Austrians off the mark in Linz?

It's match-day four in the Europa League and LASK are still looking for their first point of the campaign. A home game against Union Saint-Gilloise probably represent their best chance of claiming of a positive result so far.
The Belgians, meanwhile, can put themselves in a strong position with a win in Austria on Thursday (17:45), after picking up a respectable four points so far.
Three quarters of that tally came in the reverse fixture with LASK, as they scored two late goals in a 2-1 win.
Team News
LASK will be without Adil Taoui, Rene Renner and Philipp Wiesinger for Thursday evening, as well as on-loan Roma midfielder Ebrima Darboe.
The visitors, meanwhile, were forced to substitute injured duo Lazare Armani and Mohamed Amoura in Sunday's 2-1 win over Club Brugge, with Amoura scoring both goals for Union Saint-Gilloise.
Whether the two players return for this game remains to be seen, but Gustaf Nilsson, Fedde Leysen and and Henok Teklab are all ruled out.
Match Odds
Despite having home advantage, LASK are 12/5 underdogs to take the three points in this one, with the away side 21/20 to win and the draw at 13/5.
Three goals were scored in October's clash and it's 4/6 for over 2.5 goals this week.
LASK to score first @ 5/4
Union Saint-Gilloise have conceded first in all three group games so far, and despite their great form in recent weeks, the Belgians have struggled for clean sheets.
They've kept just one in the last nine, while LASK have only failed to score at home three times this calendar year.
In front of their own supporters, expect the Austrians to attack from the off.
LASK to win @ 12/5
The stats didn't favour LASK in Belgium, but taking the lead in the 24th minute meant a game of attack vs defence, which the visitors very nearly won.
At home, though, and with a positive result imperative to their chances of progression, LASK are unlikely to sit back as much in Linz.
They can take heart from their clash with Liverpool at the Raiffeisen Arena in September, where they led for more than 40 minutes before the Premier League side subbed on their star men and ran out 3-1 winners.
In fact, the only other side LASK have lost against at home in 2023 is Salzburg (twice).
Union Saint-Gilloise have proven a stubborn outfit on the road in Belgium this season, and they are currently on a six-match winning run.
However, with the hosts so strong at the Raiffesisen Arena, a LASK win at 12/5 is an enticing prospect.
