Two teams still searching for their first win of the season meet in La Liga on Friday night as Las Palmas host Real Sociedad. We’ve picked out our best selections for this all-Spanish encounter.

Las Palmas vs Real Sociedad Prediction

  • Las Palmas to score under 0.5 goals @ 11/10
  • Real Sociedad to win and BTTS No @ 15/8

Both of these sides have struggled in different ways over their opening two La Liga matches, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find any value. Below is our reasoning for these tips.

Las Palmas to score under 0.5 goals

García Pimienta’s side haven’t managed to score from open play in the two matches so far this season, so there is cause for concern in front of goal.

Jonathan Viera converted their only goal of the season from the penalty spot against Mallorca, but despite having 69% possession in that game, and 62% away at Valencia, they haven’t created many chances.

They only managed one shot on target in the 1-0 defeat at the Mestalla, while they had two, one being that penalty, in the 1-1 draw with Mallorca. For all their passing and dominance of the ball, they lack any form of cutting edge in the final third. Former Everton striker Sandro Ramírez and Barca winger Munir have not quite made the impact expected.

Backing them not to score at 11/10 seems like the way to go.

Real Sociedad to win and BTTS – No

Given we think the home side are going to struggle to find the back of the net, it makes sense that Real Sociedad will be able to find the breakthrough. With Imanol Alguacil in charge, they’ve drawn both games so far this season 1-1, having scored the opening goal in both encounters.

They conceded in the 94th minute against Celta Vigo on home soil after going into their shell, but with the likes of Mikel Oyarzabal they could have enough to break through here and secure their first three points of the season.

They finished fourth in La Liga last term while Las Palmas finished second in the Segunda Division, so there should be a sizable gap between the two teams in terms of quality.

A Real Sociedad win to nil makes the most sense on paper.
