Ireland vs Hungary Prediction: Visitors to continue their strong form

The Republic of Ireland welcome Hungary to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Tuesday night (19:45), with the visitors looking to continue their strong form heading into this summer's European Championship in Germany.
Hungary are unbeaten in their last 14 matches, while Ireland have lost five of their previous nine outings. Read on for my Ireland vs Hungary prediction, featuring match odds and team news.
Ireland are 7/4 to win here, giving them an implied probability of 36.4%. Hungary are valued at 13/8, which gives them a 38.1% chance of victory. The draw can be backed at 21/10 (32.3%).
Both teams to score is on offer at 10/11 and over 2.5 goals is priced at 5/4.
Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai carries a huge goal threat when playing for his national team and he is 7/1 to open the scoring in Dublin.
Team News
The Boys in Green are missing a few players for this international camp. Defender Nathan Collins picked up an injury towards the end of the Premier League season and misses out through injury. This will give Lyon's Jake O'Brien the chance to make his senior debut at the Aviva. Gavin Bazunu, Evan Ferguson and John Egan are also sidelined.
Chiedozie Ogbene has been excused for personal reasons.
Hungary head into this fixture with a fully-fit squad and boss Marco Rossi will have the opportunity to rotate his team in the next two friendlies.
Hungary -1 handicap @ 5/1
While there is some value to be had in backing Hungary just to win at 13/8, I've gone further. I have selected the visitors to win by a -1 handicap because they are heading to the Irish capital in great form and the hosts have won just one of their last eight.
Ireland are missing a few of their experienced players and this friendly has no deeper meaning for them. As for Hungary, they have got the Euros fast-approaching and they are going to be in a difficult group with hosts Germany, Scotland and Switzerland.
It will be important for them to keep their momentum building as they head into the tournament as then they will be a force to be reckoned with. Their form already suggests that they should be dark horses at the Euros, and another convincing display against Ireland will only enhance that view.
I see Hungary winning this one fairly comfortably and I can see them overcoming this hypothetical deficit.
Over 1.5 Hungary goals @ 7/4
After scoring 16 goals in their eight qualifiers to top their group, Hungary have shown that they have plenty of firepower in their ranks. Szoboszlai and Barnabas Varga were their joint-top scorers with four apiece, and the duo will have huge roles to play for Rossi's side in Germany.
The pair can easily have a big impact in front of goal in Dublin and can determine just how many Hungary can win by. In addition, five of Hungary's last six matches has seen them score at least two goals, which bodes well for them against an Ireland side that struggle to win games.
Confidence in the away dressing room is sky-high right now and I expect we will see this in their play on Tuesday night.
