Bet Builder pays 11/2
Over 3.5 Goals
Judging by Ipswich’s performances in the Championship, attack looks to be the best form of defence for boss Kieran McKenna.
They scored more goals than any other team in the second-tier last season, 92 overall – with 52 of those goals coming at Portman Road.
That’s an average of two goals per game, so the Tractor Boys look like offering entertainment this season, even if that will leave them open at the back.
Only Man City and Arsenal scored more Premier League goals than Liverpool last term (86) and Arne Slot’s arrival looks unlikely to change their attacking ethos.
The Reds fired four past Sevilla in last weekend’s pre-season friendly and bagged six on their last visit to Portman Road, back in 2002.
Mohamed Salah – Anytime Goalscorer
It’s fair to say Mohamed Salah’s goalscoring form has been outstanding since joining Liverpool from Roma back in the summer of 2017.
In seven Premier League campaigns with the Reds, the Egyptian star has fired 155 league goals – an average of just over 22 each season.
Despite mounting talk that he would leave Anfield at the end of last term, Salah has looked fresh and raring to go since the arrival of new boss Slot.
The 32-year-old has a great record in the early stages of the season, scoring no fewer than eight goals in the Premier League opening matchday.
The only time Salah hasn’t scored was in the 1-1 draw at his former club Chelsea last season, but he still managed to register an assist at Stamford Bridge.
Sam Morsy to be carded
Salah’s fellow countryman Sam Morsy has been an integral part of Ipswich’s rise up the divisions in the last couple of seasons.
The former Wigan and Middlesbrough midfielder is now looking to step up to the Premier League for the first time in his career, starting against one of the big six.
On their way to securing automatic promotion from the Championship, Ipswich finished seventh in the yellow card standings – having collected 101 cautions.
Morsy picked up 14 of those yellows and that makes it 36 bookings in the last three seasons for the Egyptian international. He may get caught in the referee’s glare on this first top tier outing.
