Ipswich should maintain their promotion push with a comfortable home win over rock-bottom Rotherham in the Championship on Tuesday.

The Tractor Boys appear to be back on track as they've responded to a recent three-game run without a win with successive away victories over Millwall and Swansea.

Kieran McKenna's side are fourth in the table heading into the clash with the struggling Millers but another three points would move them level with second-placed Leeds, who are not in action until they face leaders Leicester on Friday.

Ipswich vs Rotherham Prediction

  • Ipswich/Ipswich - Half-Time/Full-Time @ 7/10
  • #PickYourPunt - Ipswich to win, Conor Chaplin to score anytime and over 5.5 Ipswich corners @ 9/5

Team News

Ipswich again look set to be without injured trio Brandon Williams, Jack Taylor and George Hirst for Rotherham's visit to Portman Road.

If McKenna decides to make changes to the side that saw off Swansea 2-1 at the weekend then the likes of Wes Burns and Jeremy Sarmiento, who both came off the bench on Saturday, could come into contention for starts.

Rotherham are expected to have at least five players unavailable with Cohen Bramall, Grant Hall, Tyler Blackett, Andre Green and Daniel Ayala all still absent through injury but Fred Onyedinma has been recovering well from a muscle strain and may feature for the visitors.

Match Odds

Unsurprisingly, promotion-chasing Ipswich are favourites to win at 2/9 with the draw available at 11/2 and a shock Rotherham success is a 12/1 shot.

Both teams to score on the night is a 5/4 chance while over 2.5 total goals is 8/13.

Ipswich/Ipswich - Half-Time/Full-Time @ 7/10

Ipswich will expect to dominate against a team rooted to the bottom of the Championship table and one that has still failed to win away from home in the second tier all season.

Rotherham appear destined for relegation as Leam Richardson's side are 10 points behind second-bottom Sheffield Wednesday while they are a huge 14 points off safety.

McKenna's side were held to a 2-2 draw by the Millers in the reverse fixture in November but the chances of them slipping up at home seems remote and Town should stamp their class on this game early on and be in front by half-time before probably adding to their lead after the break.

Ipswich have lost just once at home in the league this term, winning 10 of their 15 league matches at Portman Road and drawing four times, while they have been in front at half-time in seven of those 10 wins.

When Rotherham have tackled the other automatic promotion contenders Leeds and Southampton recently they were behind at half-time to both and lost so this could follow a similar pattern.

#PickYourPunt - Ipswich to win, Conor Chaplin to score anytime and over 5.5 Ipswich corners @ 9/5

Our #PickYourPunt selection features an Ipswich victory, which is the logical starting point, while adding in Conor Chaplin to score anytime for the hosts and over 5.5 home corners on the night.

Chaplin scored his 50th Town goal when grabbing the winner at Swansea to take his tally to the season in the league so far up to 10.

He will be keen to follow that up with another against the Millers, who have the worst defensive record in the division, conceding 60 goals from their 32 matches played.

The final leg of the #PickYourPunt selection is over 5.5 Ipswich corners, which they have achieved in two of their last three games, earning six against Swansea and nine in the 2-2 home draw with West Brom earlier this month.

Rotherham are likely to be under a lot of pressure in East Anglia so the corner count for the home side should be high.

In their last two games, Watford racked up six corners against them after Hull had been awarded nine versus Rotherham in the previous game.

PickYourPunt at 9-5
