Inter Milan will host Benfica on matchday two of the Champions League on Tuesday night (20:00) at San Siro.

Last season’s finalists were held by Real Sociedad in their opening group fixture, while the Portuguese giants were stunned by Red Bull Salzburg.

Inter Milan vs Benfica Prediction

  • Inter Milan to win and both teams to score @ 5/2
  • Lautaro Martinez to score anytime @ 13/10

Team News

Inter Milan are expected to be without the injured Davide Frattesi, Marko Arnautovic, Stefano Sensi and Juan Cuadrado.

As for the visitors, Antonio Silva was dismissed against Salzburg, and the centre-back will be suspended for the trip to Milan.

Apart from that, Benfica have no significant injury worries, thus minimal changes to the lineup are expected.

Inter Milan to win and both teams to score @ 5/2

Inter proved too strong for Benfica in the Champions League quarter-final last season and should come out on top here to get their first win in the group stage.

However, Benfica have scored in nine straight away Champions League games and can get on the scoresheet at San Siro.

Ultimately, I believe Inter will have too much quality here – I Nerazzurri have won eight of their last nine home matches in all competitions.

Lautaro Martinez to score anytime @ 13/10

Inter warmed-up for the arrival of Benfica by thrashing Salernitana 4-0 on Saturday, with Lautaro Martinez making Serie A history by becoming the first substitute to score four in a game.

That’s why I’m backing the Argentine to score anytime on Tuesday night – he’s in red-hot form.

He scored the late equaliser against Sociedad on matchday one, and his four-goal haul at the weekend took his tally for the season up to 10 in eight appearances.

I think 13/10 is a decent anytime goalscorer price considering the form the Inter Milan forward is in.
