Inter Milan’s positive start to the season continued in midweek as they recorded a 1-0 win over Benfica in the Champions League. Now they return to domestic action with a home match against Bologna, at 2pm on Saturday afternoon.

Inter vs Bologna Tips

  • Under 2.5 goals @ 5/4
  • Inter to win 1-0 @ 13/2

Under 2.5 goals @ 5/4

Inter are looking incredibly strong this season both in Europe and domestically. They currently sit top of Serie A with six wins from seven and have incredibly conceded just three goals in the league so far. That rock-solid defence has provided the platform for their early success and they’ve kept three clean sheets in their last four matches.

With the likes of Lautaro Martinez in their ranks, many outsiders may expect them to run riot, but that simply hasn’t been the case in recent weeks. Also they are coming up against one of the most stubborn sides in Italy, in the form of Bologna.

Thiago Motta has created a side in his own image, and they haven’t conceded a goal in any of their last four outings. Three of those have been 0-0 draws, before the 3-0 win over Empoli at the weekend, but this is likely to be a low-scoring and tense match.

The away side have the second best defence in Serie A, having conceded just four times, and scored a lowly six in their seven matches so far. The 5/4 on under 2.5 goals, given over 2.5 is just 4/7 is well worth considering.

Inter to win 1-0 @ 13/2

As we’ve just discussed, this is likely to be a low-scoring encounter. The two best defences in Italy’s top flight meet on Saturday and we are unlikely to be spoilt for goals. However, everything we have seen from Inter this season shows they are likely to be challenging for the title this season, and it is these sorts of games where they will need to break down their opponents.

Bologna will come and make life tough for them, but you have to feel the home side will find a way to get over the line. They’ve won two of their last four matches 1-0, and the 13/2 for the 1-0 home win is also worth considering if you are after some extra value. They are unlikely to run riot against such a stubborn back line, but if you fancy them to win another Serie A match, this feels like a sensible pick – especially when Inter to win to nil is 13/10.
