Hungary and Germany have nothing riding on their Uefa Nations League fixture on Tuesday (19:45, YouTube). The visitors have topped the group and have progressed to the Nations League finals in March, while Hungary have avoided relegation to League B.

The hosts were comfortably beaten 4-0 at the hands of the Netherlands last time out, while Germany posted a record 7-0 in the Nations League against Bosnia-Herzegovina. Read on for my Hungary vs Germany prediction, accompanied by the latest match odds and team news.

Hungary vs Germany Betting Tips

  • Germany to win to nil @ 6/4
  • Tim Kleindienst anytime goalscorer @ 8/5

Hungary vs Germany Odds

Hungary are 11/2 to win this encounter, which gives them a theoretical chance of 15.4%. Germany are the overwhelming favourites at 1/2 to take the three points, giving them an implied probability of 66.7%. The draw is available at 7/2 (22.2%).

Both teams to score is marketed at 8/11 and over 2.5 goals can be backed at 8/13.

Germany's Florian Wirtz has scored three goals in the Nations League, with two coming against Bosnia last time out. He is 2/1 to score anytime on Tuesday evening.

His teammates Jamal Musiala and Tim Kleindienst have two goals themselves, and they are 2/1 and 8/5 respectively to find the back of the net at any stage during this contest.

Team News

Hungary will welcome back full-back Attila Fiola from suspension for this final Nations League clash, and he might get thrown straight back into starting lineup. Boss Marco Rossi has no fresh injury concerns heading into Tuesday, but he may give key personnel a rest seeing as there is no jeopardy involved in this fixture.

Adam Nagy, Daniel Gera, Levante Szabo and Kevin Csoboth were all called into action from the bench against the Netherlands at the weekend and they could be given the nod to start this match.

Rossi could be tempted to keep his front three of Dominik Szoboszlai, Barnabas Varga and Roland Sallai in tact against Germany, however.

Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann will be forced into a change here as centre-back Jonathan Tah is out with a suspension for accumulating too many yellow cards. Nico Schlotterbeck should take his spot in the heart of the back line, with the Borussia Dortmund man returning from a ban of his own.

Joshua Kimmich was also lost in the second half due to an ankle injury he picked up. He has stated that he is fine to play, but Nagelsmann might think it best not to risk him and start Benjamin Henrichs instead.

The likes of Alexander Nubel, Felix Nmecha, Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane will be hoping for a chance to impress the boss with rotation likely.

Germany to win to nil @ 6/4

Germany may rest some of their key figures for this clash but I still think a second-string XI will have more than enough quality to dispose of this particular Hungary side. They were comfortably beaten by the Netherlands in their last appearance, and I would say that Nationalelf are a much stronger team than De Oranje.

So I think Nagelsmann's side are also capable of beating Hungary to nil, and I think 6/4 is a good price for this to happen. They have already managed this feat against their opponents when the two sides met in Dusseldorf on matchday one of the Nations League back in September.

Germany have also posted wins with clean sheets against Bosnia in their 7-0 romping last time out, as well as a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands last month. They may be away from home but I think this could be a straightforward win Nagelsmann's men, who will look to round off this stage of the Nations League in style.

Even with a rotated XI, they can still boast the likes of Gnabry, Sane and Julian Brandt in attack, which is a lot more than what their hosts can offer from their reserves list.

These players will look to make the most of the opportunity that will likely be presented to them, so I can see them having a big impact to help this selection come to fruition.

Tim Kleindienst anytime goalscorer @ 8/5

Like Wirtz, Kleindienst bagged a brace against Bosnia over the weekend, and so he will be heading into this match full of confidence. Unlike his compatriot, I'm expecting him to keep his place in the side against Hungary because of the lack of forward options Germany currently have.

Niclas Fullkrug has been absent since injuring himself on duty with his country back in September, and Deniz Undav pulled out of this month's camp with an injury. So right now, the Borussia Monchengladbach man is unopposed to lead the line, unless Kai Havertz is deployed there as a false nine, but I can't see Nagelsmann doing that here.

Kleindienst has been playing well for the Foals in the Bundesliga this term, with six goals in 10 appearances, and this form has translated onto the international stage. He will be raring to go against another fragile defence and I think 8/5 is a good price for him to get on the scoresheet again.
