There is a huge clash in the battle for the top six in the Championship on Saturday (12:30) as Hull City welcome West Bromwich Albion to the MKM Stadium, which will be live on Sky Sports.

The Tigers are on a brilliant three-game winning run which included an excellent 2-1 victory at promotion rivals Southampton in midweek.

Albion were 3-0 winners at Plymouth Argyle in the week and so both sets of players will be heading into this crunch clash full of confidence.

West Brom currently occupy fifth spot while Hull are sixth, with a point just separating them. A victory here would give one of them some breathing room in the hunt for the play-offs.

Hull vs West Brom Betting Tips

  • Over 2.5 goals - EVS
  • Hull or draw and over 2.5 goals - 11/5

Match Odds

Hull are 6/4 to collect the three points, while West Brom are valued at 15/8. The draw can be backed at 11/5.

Both teams to score was a winning selection when the two sides met at The Hawthorns as the Baggies posted a 3-1 victory. BTTS is priced at 4/5 here. Over 2.5 goals is available at EVS.

Team News

Striker Liam Delap is the only major injury concern for Hull, and the Manchester City loanee is likely to be out for much of what is left of the season.

Daryl Dike, Matt Phillips and Josh Maja are sidelined for Albion, while Kyle Bartley is a doubt with a calf issue.

Over 2.5 goals @ EVS

Given the results these two teams picked up in the week, goals shouldn't be a problem here. We were treated to four in the meeting at The Hawthorns back in November, and both sides have improved since then.

They collectively scored five in midweek against tough opponents, and with this game having potentially huge repercussions come May, we're expecting a spectacle on Humberside.

It is very hard to separate them. Not only because there is a single point difference in the table but also due to the fact that there is just one goal between them with Hull scoring 49 to West Brom's 48.

Hull or draw and over 2.5 goals @ 11/5

As you can probably guess, we are finding it difficult to call precisely how this game will pan out. Three points here will be huge for either side in strengthening their position in the top six.

However, with so little to separate them at this moment in time, they could easily cancel each other out. It's cliche to say but we do think that the home advantage could play a huge part here, but as we're not too confident about it, we think it best to have insurance with the double chance market.

But to boost the odds, we have also added for there to be over 2.5 goals too. We have already explained why we believe that goals shouldn't be an issue in this one but the sticking point is calling the outcome of the match.

That is why we think choosing Hull or draw in that respect could be a sensible selection.
