HibsvsAberdeen

There is just one offering from the Scottish Premiership on Sunday as Aberdeen make the trip to Easter Road to face Hibernian (15:00). That these clubs find themselves down in the bottom half following the split in Scotland's top tier reveals plenty about how their respective seasons have gone to this point, with underachievement a prevailing theme.

In truth, both the Dons and the Hibees will be keen to see the summer recess called. Defensive solidity means the visitors are best placed to prevail in Leith on this occasion.

Hibs vs Aberdeen Odds

Hibs squandered an early lead in last weekend's 2-1 loss at Ross County and Nick Montgomery's side are 11/10 to rebound on home soil.

The last league meeting between these two ended all square and a repeat is priced at 5/2, while Aberdeen are 12/5 to continue their recent good run of form and leave the Scottish capital with maximum points.

The last time they met at Pittodrie it ended 2-2 in February, and a repeat of that scoreline is 12/1. Previous to that, only one team has scored in their other three meetings this season. Both teams have scored in Hibs last five league games. That outcome is 8/13 this time.

Team News

Hibs shot-stopper David Marshall sat out last weekend's loss at Ross County, with Jojo Wollacott stepping up, and it could be the same again now. Club captain Paul Hanlon was recalled at the expense of Will Fish in the Highlands, while striker Dylan Vente replaced Adam Le Fondre up front.

Jake Doyle-Hayes and Luke Amos are sidelined for the Edinburgh outfit.

Aberdeen kept the same starting XI for both recent wins over Motherwell and St Johnstone, though interim boss Peter Leven was himself missing last weekend after going for an emergency hospital procedure.

Experienced winger Junior Hoilett is doing well for the Dons and will be hoping to support lone striker Bojan Miovski.

Aberdeen to win @ 12/5

This will be the fifth meeting this season between these clubs and home advantage hasn't been a massive indicator, with just one of the games being won by the hosts, while the Dons came out on top in November's League Cup semi-final at Hampden Park.

Since the Scottish Premiership split, Aberdeen have recorded back-to-back wins over Motherwell and St Johnstone without conceding a goal.

They also played their part in a six-goal thriller with Celtic in a Scottish Cup semi-final, ultimately losing in a sudden-death penalty shootout.

Since the departure of Neil Warnock as manager in the middle of March, Aberdeen have suffered only one defeat in seven Premiership games. Hibs, by contrast, have lost three of their last five. The travelling Dons can record a victory at Easter Road.

Aberdeen to win at 12/5 Hibernian Total Goals Under 1.5 @ 4/5

Aberdeen have kept clean sheets in five of their last six in the league, picking up four wins and two draws.

They drew 2-2 at Pittodrie in February in their most recent clash but, previous to that, one of these two had failed to score in the previous five meetings.

Hibs haven't been free-scoring this season, with just 22 strikes in 17 Easter Road appearances in the league. Eight of those games have seen no more than one goal scored by the home side and, given Aberdeen's mean recent record, that outcome can land again.
