Team News
Grimsby will be seeking to field their strongest lineup as they look to pile further misery on United boss Ruben Amorim, who's side have endured a difficult start to the new Premier League season.
Json Svanthorsson and Sam Lavelle will both miss out for the hosts, but Jaze Kabia is expected to lead the line for David Artell's side, after scoring four times already this term.
Grimsby Town vs Manchester United Stats
- Grimsby are unbeaten across their first six competitive games
- Manchester United are yet to taste victory this season
As for United, Amorim is expected to rotate his squad, with Benjamin Sesko expected to make his first start for his new side, while the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Harry Maguire and Andre Onana could also feature from the off.
Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez remain sidelined through injury, and Rasmus Hojlund won't be involved as the Danish striker is reportedly close to sealing a loan move to Napoli.
Grimsby vs Manchester United Odds
Given the difference in league places, it's perhaps unsurprising to see United as short as 1/7 to win this game in 90 minutes, with the draw 7/1 and a Grimsby win is 18/1.
The Red Devils are 1/20 to win the tie as opposed to 8/1 for the Mariners, and Sesko currently leads the anytime goalscorer market at 8/11.
Both teams to score - yes @ 5/4
The home side have enjoyed a strong start to the season, going unbeaten across their first six competitive matches of the campaign.
While this will undoubtedly be a step up in quality compared to what they are used to, the Mariners will have confidence that they can cause United problems going forward, and the Red Devils looked shaky at the back at times against Fulham.
In addition, United have conceded in both of their Premier League games so far, but should have enough quality to get on the scoresheet themselves on Wednesday night.

Benjamin Sesko to score first @ 3/1
United's big-money summer signing has been limited to two substitute appearances so far, but should get his first start for the Red Devils here.
Given the level of defenders he will be up against, the 22-year-old will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet at Blundell Park.
The big Slovenian is 8/11 to score anytime so for further value, we're going to back him to break the deadlock at 3/1.
