Greece vs England Bet Builder Tips: Guehi & Gordon key in four-legged 40/1 Bet Builder

England's players will have revenge and Uefa Nations League promotion on their minds on Thursday (19:45, ITV1) when they take to the field against Greece at the Olympic Stadium of Athens. The hosts currently lead Group B2 by three points and have the head-to-head advantage over Lee Carsley's side after beating the Three Lions 2-1 at Wembley last month.
Ivan Jovanovic's charges need just a point to secure automatic promotion as group winners and they will be confident of at least avoiding defeat in Athens after winning their first four games. Below are my Greece vs England Bet Builder tips, where I have combined four selections that pay out at 40/1.

Both Teams to Score - Yes
Greece and England have scored in all four of their Nations League group games so far. Thursday's hosts beat Finland 3-0 in Athens on September 7 and claimed a couple of 2-0 victories of the Republic of Ireland either side of a 2-1 win over England at Wembley on October 10, the only game in which they have conceded so far.
England started their campaign with back-to-back 2-0 triumphs over the Republic of Ireland (A) and Finland (H) but their clean sheet run came to an end at home to Greece before beating Finland 3-1 in Helsinki last time out.
Going back to England's 2-1 extra-time victory over Slovakia in the last 16 of Euro 2024, both teams to score has been a winner in six of the Three Lions' last eight games, and also landed in half (four) of their eight qualifiers for the tournament last year.
England rarely have an issue in finding the back of the net, scoring in 10 of their last 11 internationals, but they have been susceptible in defence, offering encouragement to a Greece side that has only blanked once - in a Euro 2024 play-off with Georgia, which they lost on penalties after a 0-0 draw in Tbilisi - in their last 10 contests.
A goalless stalemate would do for Ethniki in their quest to top Group B2, securing automatic promotion to Group A, but I see England scoring in Athens, which would then force the hosts into action.
Both teams to score looks like a solid shout here, in my opinion.
Player Stats - Christos Tzolis (GRE) 1+ Shots on Target
The second leg of this Bet Builder requires Club Brugge and Greece winger Christos Tzolis to record at least one shot on target.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a solid start to the 2024/25 season, scoring twice and registering two assists to help Club Brugge to third place in the Jupiler Pro League, six points behind leaders Genk, while he scored the only goal of the game in the Belgian side's 1-0 Uefa Champions League victory over Sturm Graz in Klagenfurt on October 2. That result, coupled with a 1-0 win against Aston Villa in Brugge earlier this month, has the Blauw-Zwart on course to qualify from the league phase of the competition.
Tzolis hasn't exactly been prolific at club level this term, especially compared to last season when he scored 22 times in 30 Bundesliga 2 appearances for Fortuna Dusseldorf.
However, the former Norwich City attacker has been pretty consistent in hitting the target, averaging 1.1 shots on target per game in the Belgian top flight and 1.5 shots on target per game in the league phase of the Champions League. He scored against Sturm Graz in Austria and had a further two efforts saved before being thwarted twice by AC Milan shot-stopper Mike Maignan in a 3-1 defeat at San Siro, while he forced a save from back-to-back Yashine Trophy winner Emiliano Martinez in the victory over Aston Villa.
Tzolis has had a shot on target in eight of his 14 outings in the Jupiler Pro League this season, and scored with his only shot on target in the Nations League so far, setting the seal on Greece's 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in September. He had two shots in that game and recorded a further two in the reverse fixture in Athens, although he did fail to trouble England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in his country's 2-1 win at Wembley last month.
Back in Athens, I think Tzolis has a much better chance of testing Everton's number one.
Player Stats - Marc Guehi (ENG) 1+ Shots on Target
More of an outsider in this market, I'm also backing Crystal Palace and England centre-back Marc Guehi to muster at least one attempt on target in Thursday's clash.
The 24-year-old has never scored at senior international level despite earning 20 caps and only managed three goals in 98 Premier League appearances across his first three seasons with Palace, failing to find the net in the 2023/24 campaign.
However, the Chelsea Academy graduate has already scored twice in this season's Premier League, netting with his right foot from a corner situation in a 2-1 defeat at Everton on September 28 and with his left foot from a corner routine in a 2-2 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers on November 2. He's only averaging 0.5 shots per game in the competition but, impressively, is averaging 0.4 shots on target per game.
Guehi failed to take a shot in his first five Premier League games but has now taken six in his last six, including five in his most recent three - one in a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on October 27, two in the draw with Wolves, and another couple in last Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Fulham at Selhurst Park. It should be noted that he operated in a midfield role against the Cottagers last weekend, but one of his shots was from a corner situation.
The Eagles captain has only had one shot for England in the current Nations League campaign, which came from a corner in the 35th minute of England's 3-1 win over Finland in Helsinki last month. In fairness, though, he has only started twice, with his other appearance in the competition arriving from the bench late on in the 2-0 Wembley victory over Finland in September.
With Manchester City's John Stones, Manchester United's Harry Maguire and Arsenal's Declan Rice all out of this month's squad, the Three Lions are lacking height and aerial ability from set-piece situations, with Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham probably England's most obvious dangermen without the aforementioned trio.
Guehi appears certain to start in defence on Thursday, and he should take on even greater responsibility at corners and free-kicks.
He registered a shot on target in July's 2-1 Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain, seeing a late header cleared off the line by La Roja midfielder Dani Olmo, and I'm backing him to rise to the challenge again in Athens, hopefully with a better outcome for those of an England persuasion.
Player Cards - Lazaros Rota (GRE) Carded
The fourth and final leg of this Bet Builder requires AEK Athens and Greece right-back Lazaros Rota to receive a card from German referee Daniel Siebert. The 27-year-old has been a fixture in Ethniki's faultless start to their Nations League campaign, starting and finishing all four group games.
Rota is yet to be cautioned in the competition but is averaging 1.2 fouls per game, conceding one free-kick at home to Finland, two away to the Republic of Ireland and two against the Boys in Green in Athens.
Surprisingly, the only match in which he kept himself completely clean was the Wembley win over England, where Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon was his direct opponent.
Gordon was fouled once before being substituted on the hour mark, but not by Rota.
The 23-year-old's other two Nations League appearances this term have seen him fouled three times by the Republic of Ireland in Dublin and once by Finland in Wembley, with midfielder Rasmus Schuller booked for upending the Everton Academy graduate in the latter.
Rota passed the Gordon test with flying colours last time out but I think the Magpies man could cause him more trouble this time around.
Gordon has been fouled an average of 2.6 times per game in this season's Premier League and I see him getting more opportunities to go one-on-one with Greece's right-back on Thursday.
At Wembley, England played a three-box-three formation, without Kane as a focal point, and when the play was switched out wide, their wingers often had to retreat and offload the ball backward.
With Kane holding the ball up and playing the ball in behind for Gordon to chase, I think there will be a lot more joy to be found for the Three Lions winger, and Rota could find himself having to make a tactical foul or two.
He may not have been booked yet in the Nations League for Greece but Rota has been cautioned twice in eight Greek Super League appearances for AEK this season and is averaging 1.2 fouls per game in the competition.
