It’s the final round of fixtures from the English Premier League and Scottish Premiership this weekend, with plenty to play for on both fronts. Many of the games will be broadcast live on television, making it an exciting 48 hours for armchair fans and a fantastic opportunity for bettors to bag one final profit.

Our Weekly Goals Galore Tips article has provided some decent winners this season, and we’d love to sign off in style by sending followers into the summer break with a positive balance. Betfred’s experienced football writer, Frank Monkhouse, suggests five fixtures to add to your Goals Galore coupon with a promised return of 10/1...

Goals Galore Tips

  • Dundee vs Kilmarnock
  • Hearts vs Rangers
  • Motherwell vs St Johnstone
  • Brentford vs Newcastle
  • Sheff Utd vs Tottenham
  • Overall Odds - 10/1

Dundee vs Kilmarnock

There are three games on the Saturday schedule from the Scottish Premiership top six, and we’re backing goals in Dundee’s home tie against Kilmarnock. The Dens Park outfit went to Ibrox on Tuesday evening and made the hosts work, racing into a two-goal lead before a second-half collapse saw them end the match on the wrong side of a 5-2 result. The hosts have goals in the team, but must improve at the back.

Kilmarnock will finish fourth in the Premiership this season and secure a spot in Europe next term. It’s nothing less than they deserve, and Killie fans will want to see their men wrap things up with an away win against an opponent on a dreadful run of form. The stats show Dundee and Kilmarnock drew 2-2 in three of their four meetings this season.

Hearts vs Rangers

The final pick from Saturday’s games takes us to Tynecastle in Edinburgh, where Hearts play Rangers for the sixth and final time this season. The Jambos have not won over the Gers in their previous five attempts, but they did find the net in their first two, including a 3-1 League Cup defeat at this venue in November. Hearts fans will want to see their team improve, and they’re good enough to hurt a leaky Rangers defence.

Looking at the stats, we notice Rangers have conceded five goals in three games this month, including two against Dundee on Tuesday. The visitors will likely rest a few of their regular starters with next weekend’s Scottish Cup final at Hampden in mind. We expect an entertaining game on Saturday with goals for both teams and plenty of talking points.

Motherwell vs St Johnstone

Moving to the first of three games from Sunday, we’re at Fir Park to follow two teams that have under-performed this season by their standards. Neither Motherwell nor St Johnstone expected to finish in the bottom six, but they are where they deserve to be following uninspiring campaigns and plenty of poor performances. But there are goals in this game and the teams aim to finish with a win.

The Steelmen and Saints have met three times already this season, with both teams scoring in each of those games. They began with a four-goal draw at McDiarmid Park before a couple of 1-1 finishes. With two capable attacks ahead of two weak defences, the scene is set for this renewal to follow the form and deliver Goals Galore.

Brentford vs Newcastle

What a Sunday we have in store from the English Premier League as Man City and Arsenal prepare to battle for supremacy on the final day. We highlight the game in London, where Brentford hosts Newcastle United. The Bees are already safe from relegation and able to plan for next season. A win over a strong opponent would be an ideal way to end what has been a great campaign for Brentford.

The Bees and Magpies last met at St James Park when the locals won 1-0, but that narrow victory followed 5-1 and 2-1 wins for Newcastle. With not much to play for before the curtain falls, we’re happy to trust these sides will put on a show and score a few goals. Both Brentford and Newcastle are more than good enough to get on the scoresheet and do their bit to entertain supporters.

Sheff Utd vs Tottenham

Let’s finish things at Bramall Lane, where Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur go toe-to-toe. The Blades are rock bottom of the Premier League and will be playing Championship football next season as a result of a horrific time in the top flight. Scoring goals hasn’t come easily, but the team has conceded at an alarming rate and has already leaked triple figures. That will worsen on Sunday.

Tottenham won’t finish in the top four and miss out on the UEFA Champions League as a result, something that will hurt the club in the pocket. They lost at home to Manchester City in midweek, but beat Sheffield United 2-1 in London when the teams last crossed paths. An away win is favourite, but we’re happy to add this fixture to our Goals Galore picks.
