Real Mallorca confirmed their La Liga status for another year last week as they drew 2-2 with Almeria, a result which proved enough as relegation rivals Cadiz were held to a goalless stalemate by Las Palmas. Los Piratas can now relax ahead of a final day trip to Madrid on Sunday (KO, 13:00), where they face Getafe at the Coliseum.

The hosts are on a rotten run of form, losing their last four without scoring, and will be desperate to end their season on a high in front of their own supporters. Read my Getafe vs Mallorca prediction below as I run the rule over both sides and list all the latest team news and match odds.

Getafe vs Mallorca Betting Tips

  • Getafe to win & under 3.5 goals @ 7/4
  • Most corners - Getafe @ 5/6

Getafe have been safe for some time, but any hopes of a late-season push for Europe have evaporated. Since the start of April, Jose Bordalas' side have played seven times and won just once, losing their last four games to nil.

That run includes a 2-0 and 3-0 loss to a couple of top-five sides, Athletic Club and Atletico Madrid respectively, but they also suffered a pair of 1-0 defeats to Cadiz and Alaves.

Bordalas will be happy to see Mallorca come to Madrid this weekend, as the Azulones have won their last three games against them at the Coliseum, though October's reverse fixture at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix ended in a goalless draw.

Mallorca have been poor on the road, however, with only the three relegated clubs - Granada (three), Cadiz (nine) and Almeria (10) - picking up fewer points on their travels than Los Piratas (11).

In fact, the Copa del Rey finalists have only won once in seven games since losing on penalties to Athletic Club in Seville last month.

Team News

Domingos Duarte, Mauro Arambarri, Juan Antonio Iglesias Sanchez and Borja Mayoral were all absent for Getafe last week, and the quartet are expected to miss out through injury again on Sunday.

Diego Rico picked up his 10th yellow card of the campaign and will serve a one-match ban this weekend alongside Carles Alena, who was cautioned for a fifth time, and Ilaix Moriba, who was sent off against Alaves.

Mason Greenwood will line up for the final game of his season-long loan spell from Manchester United, with a decision expected on his future in the coming weeks and months.

Siebe Van Der Heyden is injured for the visitors, but there appear to be no other issues for them. Vedat Muriqi returned from suspension last week and will be looking to improve on his six-goal tally before the season is out.

Getafe are 6/5 to record a first victory since April 27, giving them an implied win probability of 45.5%, while Mallorca are 2/1, or a 33.3% chance.

A repeat of October's 0-0 scoreline can be backed at 15/2, while it's 11/5 just to back the draw.

Muriqi is 21/10 to score anytime on Sunday, with Greenwood shorter at 15/8.

Getafe to win & under 3.5 goals @ 7/4

Getafe can still achieve a top-half finish, so I expect them to go all out to do so. They require a win to climb above Osasuna and Alaves, who must each drop points in their final game to facilitate 10th spot for Bordalas and co.

Bordalas will also be desperate to put an end to his side's horrific run of results and ensure there is optimism heading into the summer.

Mallorca are ideal opponents for them as they are safe from relegation and are poor travellers, having failed to win a single away game in La Liga this calendar year.

The majority (29/43) of Getafe's points have been won at home, and they will expect to add Mallorca to their list of victims at the Coliseum, which includes Girona and Valencia.

To add some more value, I'm backing there to be under 3.5 goals, too.

Only Las Palmas (33), Rayo Vallecano (32), Cadiz and Alaves (both 31) have been involved in more games with under 3.5 goals than Mallorca (30) this season, while it's 27 for Getafe, who have seen nine of their last 10 finish with three or fewer goals.

Before Mallorca's 2-2 draw with Almeria last week, their last 16 matches across all competitions had ended in under 3.5 goals, and we may not be in for a goal fest on Sunday.

Getafe to beat Mallorca & under 3.5 goals at 7-4

Most corners - Getafe @ 5/6

I expect Getafe to be in control of this game at home, which should give them a chance to rack up their corner count.

Getafe only average 3.78 corners won per game in La Liga, but that number does rise to 4.17 when playing at home, while Mallorca's 5.95 season average drops to 3.11 away from home.

Bordalas' side have won the most corners in three of their last four home games, registering six, 10 and seven against Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club and Sevilla respectively, while Mallorca have only won the corner count in two of their nine away outings in the league this calendar year.

Most corners - Getafe in Getafe vs Mallorca at 5-6
