Fulham vs Southampton Bet Builder Tips: 14/1 pick for more Saints misery

Fulham have quietly gone four games without defeat which is impressive when you consider they have faced Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks. They will be pleased then, that their next test looks slightly easier on paper as they welcome Southampton to Craven Cottage on Sunday at 14:00.
This one is live on Sky Sports Main Event, as Southampton begin life without Russell Martin. At the time of writing they don’t have a new manager in place, but the new boss will have a big job on his hands to keep this lot up. Below you can find my Fulham vs Southampton Bet Builder Tips.

Fulham to win
I will back the home side to win this game, unsurprisingly. They have been in decent form of late, and up against weaker opposition should be able to assert their dominance. Marco Silva has done a terrific job this term and are up to eighth in the table, with outside ambitions of securing a spot in the Europa Conference League.
Fulham have won four, drawn two and lost two games at Craven Cottage so far this season, and their strong home record should be boosted on Sunday. Southampton are managerless, and have picked up just one point on the road this term. I don’t think Martin’s departure will help them all that much in terms of results.
BTTS
Fulham have seen both teams score in 13 of their 16 Premier League games so far this season, giving them a success rate of 81 per cent. That ranks them joint-second, only behind Brentford, for BTTS in the Premier League this term, and while Southampton have only seen BTTS in 50 per cent of their games, I think they could give a more competent display without Martin.
He was so stuck in his ways, trying to get Saints to play out from the back, that it cost them in several matches. Ultimately, going slightly more direct could limit the goals they concede but also lead to more chances at the other end. I’m happy to back BTTS in this one.
Raul Jimenez to score
Five goals to his name already this season and there are a few signs that Jimenez is returning to his best. He hasn’t quite been the same striker since that major head injury, but seems to have found some form at Fulham, under the watchful eye of Silva.
The manager now has a man he can trust to lead the line and he is getting the best out of the likes of Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith Rowe behind him. I think he can find the net against a defence that has conceded 36 goals in just 16 matches this term.
Flynn Downes to get booked
Downes has already picked up six bookings in the Premier League this season, making him the joint-most booked player along with Marc Cucurella in 2024/25. He is going to be a busy man again at Craven Cottage having to deal with the driving runs of Fulham’s midfield, and I can’t see him going the full 90 without picking up a yellow. He was booked again in midweek in the cup and this brings our Bet Builder to a price of 14/1.
