Fulham won't have too long to wallow in their misery after they were denied a place in the Carabao Cup final by Liverpool in midweek.

Marco Silva's side may be tired and deflated but now their attention must turn to the FA Cup fourth round as they welcome Newcastle United to Craven Cottage on Saturday evening (19:00).

The Magpies have enjoyed a nice two-week break to recover from their late defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League. Eddie Howe's team should be feeling refreshed heading into this one, and they will look to hit the Cottagers while they're down.

We have put together a 9/2 bet builder for you to consider for this cup tie.

Fulham vs Newcastle Bet Builder Tips

  • Newcastle to win
  • Both teams to score
  • Alexander Isak to score anytime

Newcastle to win

Things haven't been great for Howe's men in the league since the beginning of December with just two wins in their last eight and the other six being losses.

They have lost four on the bounce but they did turn in a strong performance against Man City last time out as they came from behind to get in front with two quick-fire strikes, only to be robbed of the three points late on thanks to Kevin De Bruyne's introduction in the game.

The winter break feels like it came at a right time for them and they will be hoping the two weeks will have served them well as they look to turn their fortunes around in the Premier League.

Of course they beat rivals Sunderland in the third round of the FA Cup during that dismal run, cruising to a 3-0 victory at the Stadium of Light. However, that game was more of a reflection on how poor the Black Cats were as they didn't lay a glove on Newcastle throughout the match.

With them being well-rested and hopefully pressing the reset button, they can return to the pitch this weekend and start building some momentum. They have a great opportunity against Fulham too, with the hosts having been physically and mentally drained against Liverpool.

It is also worth noting that Newcastle were 3-0 winners in this fixture in the league back in December, so that will instil some confidence to the visitors.

Both teams to score

However, given their own lack of confidence of late, particularly in defence, we reckon that this game will see Fulham get on the scoresheet.

Even though they didn't progress to the Carabao Cup final, they still managed to score in both semi-final legs against Liverpool, and the Reds have been a much more organised outfit than the Magpies in recent weeks.

Newcastle have conceded 21 goals in their last 11 matches in all competitions, and both teams to score has landed in six of them, so we fancy this trend to continue at Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers have players who can exploit their back line struggles, such as Raul Jimenez, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Harry Wilson, Andreas Pereira and Willian, all of whom have provided goals this season.

Alexander Isak to score anytime

Despite Newcastle not having had the best of times of late, one player who has been performing is their star striker Alexander Isak. The Sweden international has five goals in his last four appearances for the Magpies across the Premier League and FA Cup, taking his tally for the season up to 14.

Isak has shown throughout the season just how much of a clinical finisher he is, but he also offers a great threat through his dribbling abilities too, which will be cause for concern for Fulham boss Silva.

With his team mates not quite being at the level that they have set over the past 18 months, they are currently relying on him to deliver the goods as they try to find their way back into form, and Isak is stepping up to the challenge.

If he gets a chance at goal this weekend you're confident he will put it away.
