Below we preview the Premier League encounter and put together a bet builder to consider.

  • Bruno Fernandes to be booked
  • Andres Pereira to be booked
  • Double chance: Fulham or Draw

Team News

Manchester United are still without Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw, two key pillars of their defence. However, Aaron Wan-Bissaka played 45 minutes on Wednesday night and Sergio Reguilon started the match. Raphael Varane may return, although he was left out of the squad completely in midweek. Meanwhile, Fulham are close to welcoming both Adama Traore and Kenny Tete back into the fold, while Issa Diop remains out.

Match odds

Despite their poor form, Manchester United are the 11/10 favourites to take the win here. Fulham meanwhile, are 11/5 and a draw can be backed at 5/2. BTTS is a short price at 8/13 while over 2.5 goals is 8/11.

Amrabat, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Andreas Pereira to be booked

The angle we’ve taken for this match, is one of scrappiness and petulance. Manchester United have been tough to predict so far this season, but what we can assess is that they have picked up far too many yellow cards when things haven’t been going their way.

Bruno Fernandes is not leading by example and was throwing a strop in the Manchester Derby, while both Amrabat and Casemiro looked way off it against Newcastle United. Both defensive midfielders picked up yellow cards despite playing just 45 minutes each, and we can expect to see more of the same at Craven Cottage.

Referee John Brooks is also relatively card happy. He gave out five yellow cards in his last Premier League match at Villa Park, and sent off Yves Bissouma against Luton before that. He won’t be accepting any sort of time-wasting or dissent from the Manchester United players, who only seem to do two things when it's not going their way. Kick out, and moan.

As a result I’m happy to add the United trio to our bet slip, while Andreas Pereira can also lose his rag, and will be desperate to prove something against his former side. It’s going to be a busy day for John Brooks, and we can expect several yellow cards to be dished out here.

Double chance: Fulham or Draw

Our other selection here is a simple one. We are backing Manchester United not to win - or Fulham or Draw double chance. Erik ten Hag is feeling the pressure and his side is simply not responding. The midweek defeat to Newcastle was embarrassing given how many changes Eddie Howe made and now it seems like the tide has turned against the Dutch boss.

His attacking players are talented but as things stand, they don’t look like creating any major chances, or scoring any goals. Fulham got a creditable 1-1 draw with Brighton last time out in the league, beat Ipswich Town in midweek and are well organised. Something that can’t be said of United. I don’t think they’ll secure all three points here, and the pressure will continue to mount around Old Trafford.
