Fulham recovered from their 3-0 defeat at Newcastle by progressing in the Carabao Cup in midweek and they will be delighted to get back to Craven Cottage to take on struggling Burnley.

The Clarets have won just once on the road this season and that does not bode well for their chances as Marco Silva’s side have posted 5-0 wins in their last two home league games.

Fulham vs Burnley Prediction

  • Fulham & over 2.5 goals @ 6/4
  • #PickYourPunt - Fulham to win the first half, Palhinha to be booked & over 6.5 Fulham corners @ 10/1

Team news

Fulham’s Adama Traore is out with a hamstring injury while a calf problem is expected to mean defender Tim Ream is also absent.

Striker Raul Jimenez is suspended after his red card in last week’s 3-0 defeat to Newcastle while Willian faces a late fitness test.

Luca Koleosho and Charlie Taylor are out for the Clarets while late decisions will be made on Jack Cork, Aaron Ramsey and Johann Berg Gudmundsson’s availability. Lyle Foster could provide an alternative for Vincent Kompany up front.

Match Odds

Having had three successive home league victories, it is no surprise to see Fulham available at just 4/6 to collect another win over Burnley, who are 4/1 to chalk up their second success on the road since getting back in the Premier League.

The draw is available at 11/4 while punters can get 4/5 that both teams find the net and a similar price for there to be over 2.5 goals.

Fulham are 66/1 to claim a 5-0 win for the third home match on the bounce while their forwards Rodrigo Muniz and Carlos Vinicius are both 5/1 to score the game’s first goal.

Fulham & over 2.5 goals @ 6/4

There is no escaping that Burnley are in a relegation dogfight and the fact their only two victories have come against fellow promoted clubs Luton and Sheffield United shows how difficult they have found life back in the top flight.

Despite an encouraging 1-1 draw in their last away game at Brighton, they look up against it in a clash at Fulham, where the home side have been rampant recently.

The Cottagers registered 5-0 wins over Nottingham Forest and West Ham on the banks of the Thames recently and have scored 16 goals in their last five home matches, which included a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.

Burnley could be encouraged by their performance at the Amex, but they should have a lot of defending to do and the preference is for Fulham to win as well as there to be at least three goals in the game.

#PickYourPunt - Fulham to win the first half, Palhinha to be booked & over 6.5 Fulham corners @ 10/1

There are three elements to a #PickYourPunt selection that are worth considering, the first of which is for Fulham to be leading at half-time.

The Cottagers flew out of the blocks against both Forest and the Hammers and we can expect another bold start now they are back on home turf, and it is also worth considering that Burnley have been losing at the interval in ten of their 17 league matches this term.

Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha has been one of Silva’s most influential players, but he is also prone to falling foul of the referee and he could pick up his eighth yellow card of the campaign in what should be a keen contest in the middle of the park.

Over 6.5 Fulham corners should also be added. That is the average number per home game that the Londoners have mustered this season, which is a figure eclipsed by just six other top-flight teams, while Burnley concede an average of 7.25 per away match, the fifth highest in the Premier League.
