France Women and Brazil Women will lock horns at the Brisbane Stadium on Saturday morning (11.00) in a heavyweight clash at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

France could only muster a draw against Japan in their opening match, while Brazil kicked-off their campaign with a commanding victory over Panama.

Interestingly, there has been 11 meetings between the two nations – France are undefeated in all 11 matchups, picking up six wins and five draws.

France Women vs Brazil Women Tips

  • Brazil to win @ 8/5
  • Ary Borges to score in 90 minutes @ 4/1

Team News

Franc captain Wendie Renard is struggling with a calf problem, so could be a doubt for Saturday’s encounter.

Selma Bacha could return after suffering an injury in the warm-up game against the Republic of Ireland.

As for Brazil, Ary Borges will retain her place on the right flank after netting a hat-trick against Panama, while Lauren Costa and Rafaelle look set to start in central defence.

Brazil to win @ 8/5

Brazil were excellent in their 4-0 win over Panama, which was their third win on the bounce.

The Brazilians are out to avenge their loss to France in the 2019 World Cup and this clash comes at the perfect time for Selecao, with the French failing to score in their last two, drawing 0-0 with Jamaica after a 1-0 loss to Australia ahead of the tournament.

Brazil enter this contest in better form, and I think they will take advantage of the momentum they have on their side.

Ary Borges to score in 90 minutes @ 4/1

Ary Borges announced herself on football’s biggest stage in Brazil’s tournament opener.

The Racing Louisville forward scored a hat-trick against Panama and she’s a well-priced option to follow that up with a goal against France.

The 23-year-old is the first Brazilian to score a hat trick in her Women’s World Cup debut and is the youngest Brazilian to record a hat trick in the competition.

I think she can follow up that hat-trick with another strike here.
