Football Bet of the Day: Arsenal face Champions League test

Wednesday football action is few and far between in the men’s game, but fortunately for us we’ve got the Women’s Champions League to look forward to.
It’s matchday three and there’s some giant clashes taking place on Wednesday night. Below you can find my Football Bet of the Day as we look for a winner.
Football Bet of the Day - Wednesday, November 12
- Bayern Munich or Draw and BTTS Yes vs Arsenal @ 11/8

Bayern Munich host Arsenal on Wednesday (20:00, Disney+) and this clash poses an opportunity for both sides to get back on track, given they have both won one and lost one in the Uefa Champions League so far. That leaves them ninth and 11th in the group phase respectively, while Arsenal are the favourites to take all three points on away soil.
Obviously the defending champions have great pedigree and they showed that last term, but they’ve not been that impressive in the Women’s Super League or the Champions League, and have already lost ground in the title race.
They finished in second last term, 12 points behind champions Chelsea, but their focus towards the end of the campaign was on Europe. This term though, they are already down in fourth, six points behind leaders Manchester City and are trailing both Chelsea and Manchester United having picked up 15 points from eight so far.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Arsenal sit fourth in the WSL, six points off top
- Bayern Munich are top of the Frauen-Bundesliga, with nine wins and one draw
- BTTS have come in during five of the last seven Arsenal games
As you’d expect, it seems to be the big teams that they struggle against this season with Renee Slegers’ side losing to Lyon on matchday one in this competition. In the WSL they’ve also drawn with Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa this term, while they were beaten 3-2 by league leaders Man City.
It leaves me with doubts for their Champions League test away at Bayern, especially when you consider that the Frauen-Bundesliga champions lost one league game last term and currently sit top with nine wins and one draw on their record so far.
Obviously the German league is of lesser quality than the WSL right now, and the 7-1 defeat to Barcelona was poor, but they are scoring so many goals and responded to that defeat in the Champions League by beating Juventus 2-1.
I think they can certainly get at least a point at home against this underperforming Arsenal outfit, while we can also expect both teams to find the net in this clash. Both teams have scored in both of Bayern’s UCL games so far and in five of the last seven Arsenal games in all competitions.
Add these two together and we get a price of 11/8 for Bayern Munich or Draw and BTTS Yes vs Arsenal, which is Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day.
