Football Bet of the Day: Faroe Islands can continue building momentum

While some of the remaining fixtures of the Uefa World Cup qualifiers are played on Tuesday, there are also a handful of international friendlies taking place. One of them sees the Faroe Islands take on Kazakhstan (17:00 GMT) and this pits two sides who have been in decent form of late, against one another. 

This is the match which I have selected for my Football Bet of the Day, which you will find below.

Faroe Islands vs Kazakhstan Odds

The Faroe Islands have won their past two home fixtures in all competitions and they are 13/10 (implied probability of 43.5%) to win this encounter.

Kazakhstan have played out consecutive draws heading into this clash, with the stalemate priced at 21/10.

The visitors are 15/8 to come out on top and they have won one of their past three fixtures.

This is an interesting contest on paper because both teams have been having strong finishes to the end of the year. The Faroe Islands were writing all sorts of headlines with their valiant efforts in Group L as they got themselves to within one point of second place, which would have secured them a place in the play-offs ahead of the World Cup finals next summer.

For a nation with a population of just shy of 55,000 people, it would have been a monumental achievement.

They have recorded impressive victories over both Czech Republic and Montenegro in recent months, both of which came at Torsvollur.

This may be a friendly but it is also their final fixture of 2025, which will no doubt go down in history for some of the memories they have created this year. I think they will look to bow out on a high against Kazakhstan on Tuesday evening.

The visitors have been in decent form themselves in recent months. Their last outing was a 1-1 draw with 10 men against Belgium in their final World Cup qualifier, the same scoreline they played out against North Macedonia in the fixture before that.

They posted a 4-0 victory over Liechtenstein before that, so they head here unbeaten in three and should have some confidence about them when facing the Faroe Islands.

With the home advantage I am favouring the hosts in this fixture but I am wary of how well Kazakhstan have fared in recent games. I think the value here lies in covering the Faroe Islands and draw in the double chance market. I think they should have have enough at their disposal to secure a draw, but I do think they have a good chance of winning this friendly.

The selection is bolstered by BTTS - Yes, which has been a winning selection for both teams in each of their last two outings. This has also been a successful bet in two of the hosts' previous four home appearances.
