Football Bet of the Day: Another profitable evening for La Roja

Spain have had a perfect start to their Uefa World Cup qualifying campaign, having won all three of their fixtures to date - without conceding a single goal. They host Bulgaria in Valladolid on Tuesday (19:45 BST, Prime Video).

The visitors are yet to pick up a point in Group E and are not expected to have much joy against the European champions. It is from this match that I have selected my Football Bet of the Day for Tuesday.

Spain vs Bulgaria Odds

Spain are 1/4 (implied probability of 80%) to win to nil, which they have managed in each of their three qualifiers so far.

The stalemate is marketed at 20/1, while Bulgaria are 66/1 to come away with the three points.

Mikel Merino is Spain's top scorer in qualifying with four goals and he is 19/20 to strike anytime on Tuesday.

There are a lot of eyes on Spain ahead of next summer's World Cup finals following their Euro 2024 triumph, and they are the 4/1 favourites to win the tournament with Betfred.

Luis de la Fuente's side have already built up lots of momentum and qualifying is going exactly how they would have liked. Three games, three wins and no goals conceded - the perfect cocktail of a side with ambitions of winning the World Cup.

Given that the hosts are heavy favourites here, I've had to put together a Bet Builder to try and get some value from this clash. The first leg is easy, it's for Spain to win. They're at home and have won their past three matches, which have been accompanied by clean sheets.

There is a huge gulf in class between La Roja and their opponents Bulgaria, who have lost each of their three qualifiers to date - twice without scoring. Spain have struck 11 goals in Group E heading into Tuesday's contest and I think the visitors' defence is going to be in for another tough evening against the European champions.

The second leg of this Bet Builder is understandably both teams to score - no. This has been a successful bet in all three of the hosts' three qualifiers, as well as in two of Bulgaria's three outings in Group E.

The visitors have just the one goal to their name and they have barely threatened in any of their fixtures so far. It is hard to see them laying a glove on Spain given the fact La Roja are yet to see their defensive line breached in this qualifying campaign.

Under 4.5 goals concludes this bet, and you may think this is bold considering Bulgaria were beaten 6-1 by Turkey on Saturday, but it is because of Spain that this market sticks out to me.

Only one of La Roja's qualifiers have gone higher than four goals and that was their 6-0 triumph over Turkey last month. Their other two results have been 2-0 at home against Georgia last time out, and a 3-0 victory in Bulgaria in September.

I think Spain, like many teams that know they are levels above their opponent, will not overexert themselves in the sake of winning by a landslide. The other argument is that they are not as clinical with their chances, which was the case in the reverse fixture against Tuesday's opponents.

They registered 24 shots against Bulgaria in Sofia but only 12 of them were on target. Given the form the hosts are in, and the knowledge of the visitors' poor form, I think Spain will know that a couple of goals will do the job to move them up to 12 points in Group E.

This should be comfortable, like all of their previous qualifiers, but I don't think we will see them score more than four goals in Valladolid.
