England vs Serbia Odds

Eight of England’s last nine games have been wins to nil, and it feels like we should see a similar performance from the Three Lions on Thursday night with qualification already secured. England host Serbia (19:45, ITV1) at Wembley having secured top spot with relative ease, while Serbia are battling it out with Albania for second place.

Veljko Paunovic’s men sit on 10 points, one point behind Albania with two to play, with both teams having to play England in this final international break of 2025. It means it’s all to play for, but this looks to be a really tough task for the visitors.

Thomas Tuchel’s men have found their feet pretty quickly and in this qualifying group they’ve been imperious - scoring 18 goals without concession so far. The Three Lions have found a beautiful balance to their play lately, even without Jude Bellingham in the squad.

Football Bet of the Day Stats

  • England have won every World Cup 2026 qualifier to nil
  • England have won eight of their last nine to nil

Harry Kane is firing the goals in for club and country, and while Tuchel does need to finalise his preferred XI, he seems to have five or six guaranteed starters already. This international break then is probably going to be a chance for him to fill in the gaps, as it were, although there is no natural striker to replace Kane up top in the squad.

Nico O’Reilly looks to have surpassed Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back while Jarell Quansah and Trevoh Chalobah are both fighting for a place at centre-back. You’d think that Reece James and Marc Guehi are nailed on in the back four, with John Stones also now the experienced head at the back.

Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson should be the midfield starters but Adam Wharton and Alex Scott should be given a chance to shine in this fixture. Basically, England are going to make changes to their ‘usual’ XI, but the players coming in will be desperate to prove a point with time running out to stake a World Cup claim.

I can’t see Jordan Pickford getting rotated for this one and when he’s on the pitch, England don’t concede goals. They should win this one fairly comfortably so another win to nil in this qualifying group certainly appeals as our Football Bet of the Day at 19/20.
