Football Bet of the Day: McTominay the man to watch

Sunday sees Scotland in action against Belarus (17:00 BST, live on BBC Two) in a Fifa World Cup qualifier, and the Scots can take one step closer to sealing a play-off place with a win.
Steve Clarke's side were dominated by Greece at Hampden Park on Thursday but somehow emerged 3-1 winners, and now they're within touching distance of potentially reaching their first World Cup since 1998. Read on for our Football Bet of the Day on Sunday.
Football Bet of the Day - Sunday, October 12
- Scott McTominay (SCO) to score anytime (vs Belarus) @ 23/20

As mentioned in the introduction, Scotland produced the ultimate 'smash and grab' against Greece, somehow winning 3-1 after the visitors missed an open goal, hit the bar and forced a superb save from Angus Gunn.
But as they say, the only statistic in football that matters is the scoreline, and Ryan Christie's strike, as well as late goals from Lewis Ferguson and Lyndon Dykes, gave Scotland a huge win and has brought them ever closer to their World Cup dream.
Now the Scots are only kept off top spot in Group C by Denmark's superior goal difference, and they now welcome a Belarus side with no points to their name and a -12 goal difference after their most recent three matches.
Furthermore, victory here for Clarke's men, combined with defeat for Greece in Denmark, would ensure a play-off place at a minimum.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Scotland have kept clean sheets in three of their last four matches
- Belarus have a goal difference of -12 over their last three games
One man crucial to their success is former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.
Finishing 18th in this year's Ballon d'Or rankings is a good indicator as to how his career has panned out since leaving Old Trafford for Napoli, and the 28-year-old should get plenty of chances to bag against a poor Belarus side.
McTominay's prolific international form may have dropped off but that is only since Scotland started playing higher quality opposition on a more regular basis, and the Napoli star had three chances in the reverse fixture against Sunday's opponents, although he failed to make any of them count.
In addition, McTominay is also Scotland's designated penalty taker, which boosts this bet further, in our opinion.
When looking at the Scotland vs Belarus Odds, Scotland are massive favourites at 1/9, giving them an implied win probability of 90%, the draw is 15/2 and Belarus are 25/1.
