Football Bet of the Day: Barca’s winning streak to hit double figures on Saturday

Could this be the weekend that Barcelona are confirmed as the champions of La Liga for the second year running? Barca travel to Osasuna on Saturday night (20:00 BST, Disney+) knowing three points puts them on the brink of retaining the title.

Three points here would require Real Madrid to win at Espanyol on Sunday to prolong the race for at least another week. Barcelona are the focus for my Football Bet of the Day, which you can read all about below.

Osasuna vs Barcelona Odds

Osasuna have won five of their past nine home games in the league and they are 16/5 to burst Barca's bubble.

The draw is valued at 3/1, with the hosts experiencing two stalemates in their last three outings in La Liga.

Barca are an 8/11 bet to make it 10 top-flight victories in a row. The visitors have won and kept a clean sheet in three of the four most recent meetings, and they are 12/5 to win to nil on Saturday.

I'm inclined to agree with Betfred in having Hansi Flick's side as the favourites to collect the three points but I am here to provide better value in an away win for our punters.

My Bet of the Day is Barcelona to win and Under 3.5 Goals. I have picked out this market because six of the visitors' previous nine wins in La Liga have seen fewer than four goals scored.

Additionally, Under 3.5 Goals has struck in each of the Blaugrana's four most recent road trips in this competition. This was also a winning selection in December's reverse fixture at Spotify Camp Nou, which the league leaders won 2-0.

Barcelona are closing in on a second consecutive title and Flick and his players are not going to falter at this late stage. They are 11 points clear of Real Madrid with four games to play, so it is very much a case of when not if at this point.

With the attacking resources at their disposal, Barca should have no trouble extending their winning run but they won't need to blow their opponents away for that to happen.

Osasuna's recent form has also played into my thinking for this pick. Three of Los Rojillos' last four fixtures in the top flight have produced Under 3.5 Goals, including their past two home games.

The hosts have also won just one of their previous seven contests in La Liga, so I cannot see them being in a position to deny the form side in the division, who are fixated on getting over the line to successfully defend their crown.

At 15/8, which has an implied probability of 34.8%, I believe this market is too good for punters to ignore on Saturday.
