Football Bet of the Day: 7/1 for Armstrong to bag another brace for Southampton

With six wins in seven Championship matches, Southampton are well and truly on the march. The Saints are showing their credentials to climb their way into the automatic promotion race, so they will look to take all three points at Carrow Road on Saturday (12:30 GMT, Sky Sports Main Event) against Norwich City.
It's from this early kick-off in the second tier, that I have selected my Football Bet of the Day. With three winners already this week, I'm hoping I can finish off in style.
Football Bet of the Day - Saturday, December 13
- Player To Score Two or More Goals - Adam Armstrong @ 7/1

Norwich claimed their second home league win of the season against Queens Park Rangers on their last appearance at Carrow Road. They are 5/2 to prevail here.
They recently drew 1-1 with Oxford United here, and this was the same result they had at Sheffield United on Tuesday. The stalemate is priced at 13/5.
The Saints are 1/1 to collect the victory.
Given the circumstances, EVS is a good price for Southampton to win against a team who have struggled all season, but for the bet of the day we need better value. It's the goalscoring markets I'm looking at and the candidate at the top of the list when looking for a player is Adam Armstrong for the Saints.
In recent years, he has established himself as one of the best goalscorers available in this division and since his club parted with Will Still at the start of November, the former Blackburn Rovers man has profited greatly.
Before Still got sacked, Armstrong had scored four goals in 13 league games. The centre-forward has since scored seven goals in as many games and has almost tripled his haul from before November.
Armstrong has played a key role for the Saints during this period and he is someone they will be looking to for inspiration on a consistent basis in the coming months as they strive for an immediate return to the Premier League.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Armstrong has scored braces in his last two Championship appearances
- He has seven goals in his last six games
When Southampton head to East Anglia Saturday lunchtime, Armstrong will be looking to strike for the fourth consecutive match in the second tier. He is currently on a run of back-to-back braces against Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion, with the attacker having spent the second half of last season on loan with the latter.
His form is troubling for Norwich, who have had a torrid time of it on home soil this campaign. Their home record is only better than Sheffield Wednesday's, as the Canaries have lost seven from nine at Carrow Road.
The hosts have conceded 15 goals here, which is only worsened by Wednesday (24), Hull City (18) and Blackburn (16). Armstrong in his current mood couldn't be asking for a better opponent right now.
Yes, Philippe Clement looks like he is starting to have an impact at Norwich with five points from the last 12 on offer, but they are coming up against one of the form sides in the division who boast an array of attacking talent, with Armstrong at the head of it.
Given his form in the past month, and the two braces he has bagged in the past week, 7/1 is simply too good a price to ignore for the Saints striker to net another double on Saturday.
