Football Bet of the Day: 15/8 for a stalemate in Portugal

Monday presents a few options when it comes to your football fix, and while a lot of the games taking place are already covered here on Betfred Insights, my Football Bet of the Day comes from Portugal.

Vitoria de Guimaraes vs Gil Vicente Odds
Vitoria are gunning for a third-straight league win and they are 7/4 to emerge as the winners on Monday night. And they also won both league meetings last season.
Gil Vicente have won three of their six away trips in the top flight and they are 7/4 to come away with the three points.
At least one team has failed to score in each of the past three competitive meetings between the two clubs - with BTTS - No marketed at 8/11.
I think value lies in covering a draw in this contest, which is priced at 15/8. The hosts are on a two-game winning streak and have lost just the one league game here in 2025/26, while the visitors sit in the top four with an impressive away record which includes just one defeat.
The visitors may have lost their last outing against Tondela but they were unbeaten in nine league matches before that, and their latest away trip saw them share the spoils with AVS.
Gil Vicente head here with the second-best defensive record in the division, too, with six goals conceded - split equally across their home and away appearances. They are a tough side to break down but they are up against a side with confidence, who have a decent home record and dominated this fixture last season.
Vitoria were 4-0 victors at home in last term's encounter.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Vitoria have drawn two of their six home league games
- Both of Gil Vocente's draws in the league have come on their travels
This is an intriguing contest on paper as the hosts can move to within three points of the visitors with a victory, while if the away side win, they will have a four-point cushion inside the top four.
They are currently one point ahead of Braga in fifth, and Vitoria held the Archbishops to a draw when they visited Estadio D. Afonso Henriques in September.
I think the hosts will be sensing an opportunity because of Gil Vicente's surprising home defeat last time out against Tondela, but it doesn't take away too much from the visitors, who have been having a very strong season up to this point.
The home team should have plenty of confidence following their away triumph at Porto in the Taca de Liga last Thursday, scoring three goals against the league leaders who have currently conceded just three goals across the entire Primeira Liga campaign to date.
But I cannot get away from Gil Vicente's defensive strength, which they are showcasing both home and away. It feels like they will ensure that this will be made a low-scoring affair and given that both teams have quality, the smart play does look to be backing them to cancel each other out.
