Football Bet of the Day: Vitesse to have another productive evening in front of goal

Had it not been for one member letting the team down, we would be heading into Monday having had success our last three Football Bet of the Day selections. I delivered a winner on Friday in the Eredivisie match between NAC Breda and Groningen.

With this being the start of the October international break, I'm afraid it's rather slim pickings for Monday's pick. After Friday's triumph, though, returning to the Netherlands looks appealing as Vitesse host Den Bosch in the Eerste Divisie (19:00 BST).

Vitesse vs Den Bosch Odds

The home side have won their last two league fixtures heading into Monday, and they are 13/8 to get the victory.

Den Bosch have won just two of their past five outings in the league and they are 5/4 to come away with the three points.

The visitors' most recent game was a draw with RKC Waalwijk and the stalemate here is priced at 5/2.

Considering Vitesse started the season with a 12-point deduction, they have started brilliantly. They have collected 10 points from their opening six matches so they are currently sat on -2, while boasting games in hand on their rivals.

They may be bottom of the table but their form does not represent their position at all. Monday gives them the chance to overcome their deficit if they can defeat Den Bosch.

The visitors sit eighth in the standings after having played nine times in the second tier, and they have had a mixed bag of results (4W 2D 3L). A result feels like a tough one to call here because the hosts have won two of their three home matches to date, while Den Bosch have triumphed in two of their four away trips.

I think I would lean towards a home win on this occasion, but not enough to include it in today's bet of the day. Instead I have turned to one of Betfred's three Price Boosts, with this one for Vitesse to score in both halves.

The Vites have looked sharp in front of goal in their opening six matches of the campaign, scoring 11 times.

This selection looks more interesting given the fact that Den Bosch have conceded goals in both halves in 55% (5/9) of their Eerste Divisie games this term, including three of their past four outings in the second tier.

As well as this, De blauwwitte draken have one of the worst defensive records in the division (fifth) having shipped 18 goals to date, meaning they are conceding an average of two goals per game, which is great news for our selection on Monday evening.

They have score 20 goals, though, which is the third best return in the Eerste Divisie, so Vitesse's own defence will need to be on guard. This may seem like something that can impact the selection - it can - but I believe in a good way.

It shows that Den Bosch are involved in a lot of end-to-end battles and I believe Vitesse can profit from this by hitting the visitors in the first and second half, like five teams have done so before them this season.
